I wouldn’t think of it that way - I’d just think he isn’t committed. We are the front runners though. Keep recruiting him hard.
Freeman could get O’Leary on the blower and ask him to have a chat with him calm him down.
Of course. I didn't use my words. What I mean is that they're recruiting him *and* his replacements. Which is a nice change from the "we sure hope he likes us again because we don't have a backup plan" approach ND usually uses.

If he comes out of this OV and decides to push back his timeline, I think they'd absolutely give his spot away. It's a business and Notre Dame has to make sure *a* talented player gets that scholarship.

Even if Taylor is number one on their board?

What do they give on Michigan OVs? Some thoughts:
-Central Michigan apparel
-30 pieces of silver
-Northwestern, UChicago, and Notre Dame rejection letters
-Binoculars
-Living room cleats
-Walmart vests
-Stallions’ Manifesto

You would've thought that someone staffer would've gotten fired after that barbecue debacle.

It sounds like this kid is actively trying to get ND to "move on" so he doesn't have to be the one to decommit.

(i.e., "What was I supposed to do? ND told me they were going in a different direction).

If the options are “hope he recommits and be prepared to accept that you won’t get anyone when he goes somewhere else” or “move on because he chose ND for his position coach who isn’t here anymore and you need to fill that spot with a talented recruit and it’s your responsibility to field a talented, deep safety position,” then yes.

They’re going to get that answer this weekend. He has a chance to reconfirm his spot. Top pick or not, he isn’t ND’s only very good option for that scholarship and it’d be insane to leave 2025 with none of them.

I get catering to top recruits, but if I’m freeman I pull the plug on this one. Alabama is one thing as dad went there. Multiple other programs means you’re not committed

They don't need to pull the plug, but they can't think of him as a soft commit. Essentially, they need to re-recruit him. Taylor is concerned if he made the right decision or not. If ND wants him, they need to show that as best as they can.

ND will never be a championship level team if they aren't willing to fight for the Top 50 recruits. Regardless if they are committed or not.

If Freeman doesn't fight, he will become what Brian Kelly became in his last five years at Notre Dame.

Fellas, fellas, cool it. This is like when you give the ol girl a pass to experience some new things that she’s mentioned in the past before she ultimately chooses you on wedding day. She’s coming home. She’s not coming back the same, but she’s coming back. Right? RIGHT?!

His father went to Louisiana Lafayette.
Side note but dad's college career is kinda wild. He was academically ineligible his first two seasons at Louisiana Lafayette (which can't be an easy feat), walked on as a RB/KR for his junior year, switched to corner as a senior and proceeded to be a fourth round draft pick who was declared the "worst pick in history" by a Steelers writer. Ten years/two Super Bowls later...

In regards to the UF visit. I just got a text from my best friend who reads ND Nation & UHND. (BTW... He hates IE cuz we have a collective sense of humor & are generally optimistic.)

The screen shot of the Rivals piece says the following (from Taylor):

"I'm just keeping it open, I'm very open minded right now. I am slowly going through the process & enjoyingthe process, but I'm taking my time. I'm making sure I'm at the right place."

I'm down with that. The Steeler Sideline Mafia and 3M are gonna keep him in this class. The old ways are no more. This is the way.
