Noticed we didn't have a profile. Will fill in more later.

Most diverse array of recruit locations I've seen. If Roberts was still committed, it would be an extra weird combo. We've got Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, and with Nate you'd have Oklahoma.

That's four states (nix Florida) that it has probably been decades that we brought kids in from. No rock left unturned I guess.

A young person who commits after a loss sees potential in what we really are and could be, not what we demonstrated in the final outcome. I respect that, because it’s not an easy thing to say I can change that scenario for the better. Welcome to the class, CJ.

Pretty sure he committed right before the game…

The staff has clearly liked what they have seen. They do see a lot more film than what is posted on YouTube/Hudl. He's not even half way through his junior season. I'll hold back an opinion on this one until his junior film comes out.

Remember, ND can "part ways" if they don't like or don't see the progression that they would hope for.

CJ May could end up being an interesting story…….comes from a very small public high school in rural AL, less than 250 students. About 2/3 of the student population are deemed “economically disadvantaged”. The ND staff must really see something in him.

I think the recruiting strategy remains build a base class early which allows you to swing bigger later on. I don’t view any of these commitments as concluding a position or position group this early. Therefore, not really worried about it.

However, my thoughts on what little recent tape there is. I’d like to see more twitch and quickness in edge prospects. Don’t see great bend or flexibility. But, he’s got good size. Looks like a guy that has a lot of growth in front of him, physically.

Dude has offers from Georgia, Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee. Our staff isn’t the only one that sees something.
Regardless, to rockin’s point, it does feel like we’re getting more flexible on some of the kids prior regimes would have seen as an academic or cultural reach.
I’m gonna have faith that’s a good move.

Also Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss and Elko. He may not be a program changing recruit, but if this caliber of player is your baseline you are entering different territory as a program. Everybody on thus board would have been ecstatic about this kind of commitment 4-5 years ago.
I think just about every current coach on this staff had earned the benefit of the doubt in regard to identifying talent. We have a lot of young kids outperforming their recruiting rankings right now and I dont recall a time in recent or not so recent memory when we had so many first and second year players playing real minutes and contributing like this.
