It takes like 2 minutes to see it or not on most recruits… oline is the hardest, for me at least

There’s very few recruits where people are like “why did we recruit him”, then they become really good

Honestly……you can assess a player‘s ability to play man to man coverage only watching some highlights? I have to admit that’s pretty impressive. If you are indeed that skilled, you really should pursue a career in talent identification because that kind of efficiency would go far. I have some friends that are close to Nick Saban…..I can put in a good word for you.

It's hard with any high school kid. Your competition matters. Some kids are the only kid who will ever sniff d1 out on the field and it shows. There are other kids playing better competition. I'm sure the staff has a better understanding of this kid then some hudl highlights

I agree that he isn't the athlete I'd prefer at safety but they see something and saw him in person it's hard off of just tape and small amounts of it

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that he did more than what was shown in that brief video to warrant the immediate offer after his camp outing.

It wasn't ND. It was ISD and it was prior to him getting offered, much less committing. ISD was there for the camp event.

And that was like 4-5 snaps of him lining up 1v1. That's more appropriate for corner, not so much safety.

ND worked him out A LOT longer than that. So the 30 second tidbit that ISD provided isn't even a fraction of what ND was able to see.

Long and rangy, good athlete, very raw in terms of playing safety and in deep coverage, which makes sense since this will be his first year after moving from LB since they had Hartford and Minich last year at safety.

Fair, but he got burned by some tes I believe so that would be relevant to a safety… I just didn’t think he moved well at all, sounds like ND is trusting his high school HC opinion a bit here

Hope he ends up awesome, he looks the part
