Remember when we were wondering if Sayin would want to come here after we landed Moore?

Ahhh simpler times.

Of indirect note, Eli Holstein committed to Alabama which about officially makes Arch Texas or Georgia. If Sayin indeed is looking at depth charts, those are two of his main suitors and following Arch Manning, warranted or now, is likely not gonna be an attractive spot.
Coincidentally, reports today are UGA and Kirby Smart are working on a long term extension.

CJ Carr stated he would not be affected by Dante Moore's decision.... I think it may have been Sayin
In March and April, Loy mentioned several times that Carr would NOT attend the same school that Moore chooses. In mid-April, that changed and it was reported that Carr wouldn't have any problem attending the same school, if it was the right fit.

This was from early March. Supposedly Loy commented after this came out that he didn’t think it would change anything for ND if Moore committed. So who knows.

“I think it will be a couple of months in to my junior year,” Sayin said. “I want to see where some of the ‘23s (QBs) end up and then go from there. I’m not planning to narrow my list or anything, at least not publicly, when I feel ready to go, I’ll just make a commitment and ride it out from there.”

I mean, kind of
🤷🏻‍♂️…. Welp either way, curious of the opinions on this board of who they’d choose between Sayin or Carr. Just from the little film I’ve seen, I realllllly like Sayin, but I feel like nearly all the ND talking heads prefer Carr

I forget if it was Loy or Singer, but apparently the staff changed their view when Sayin last visited and they’ll will take whoever is first.

Personally I prefer Sayin, but Carr would be a fun get because the Michigan tears

You're right, I do remember seeing that now. Imho, Carr is the better prospect but I'd be extremely happy if Sayin winds up being our guy in 24.

Are people that are saying Carr is the better prospect saying that because of PTSD over Pyne. Carr is taller and we are afraid Sayin might be too short? Sayin is rated higher by 247 as well as the composite. Just curious.

Seems to be the consensus amongst the talking heads at least on the ND side. From the way they rave about him he could end up the #1 qb in that class. Having said that Sayin is a polished star so like someone else said in here.... Just get one of them. They both look like top 5 qbs and 5* caliber.

Both appear to be pretty solid but I personally prefer Sayin. His ball placement, footwork and throwing motion are other worldly for his age. Everything is so efficient and effortless and the ball explodes out of his hand.

Both he and Carr seem to have pretty good mobility in the pocket, but Sayin has a little bit of that Patrick Maholmes in him where I catch myself thinking how in the hell did he just make that throw and make it look so easy from that angle/body position.

Ultimately I would be happy if we ended up with either one though.

If one of them can reclassify to ‘23, that’s who I’d prefer. (Hopefully) Bring in Moore along with one of these two and let them battle it out, the 5 star that loses can go to OSU, Georgia, etc. How about that for a reversal of fortunes?

Why can't one reclassify to 2025 and we can have Dante, Carr, Julian in 3 straight classes?

On what he's looking for in a school

"A great relationship with the head coach.”

I know the Carr stuff but everything to me continues to feel like it would be Sayin. It’s a good sign this isn’t tied to Rees like it seemed earlier and gotta like any chances that hinge on the HC relationship with Freeman at the helm.

He’s a stud. If we get to his October commitment and he's committing to another school while we wait on CJ Carr and possibly still Dante Moore, I might have to be committed to an institution with white padded walls.

Most to least likely to commit to a school before the year 2023:

1. Julian Sayin
2. CJ Carr
3. Dante Moore

Nurse Ratched is IE's Recruiting Director. She's happy to receive the commitment of overly anxious ND fans any time.

With Arch going to Texas and Carr, naturally Georgia is getting talk as the clear leader at the moment.

If Arch’s commitment pushes Sayin that quickly to Georgia, it’d wonder if even a CJ reclassification matters here.
