He’s a stud. If we get to his October commitment and he's committing to another school while we wait on CJ Carr and possibly still Dante Moore, I might have to be committed to an institution with white padded walls.
You feeling better with Carr's commitment? lol

Mgoblogites feel like they have a good chance with this guy, as they continue to down play losing two 5* QBs from their state and bag on Carr as good as hit rating. Its really sad, yet satisfying.

Really funny how it went from Dante is the best, to CJ is better, to we're getting Jadyn Davis to re classy fries and Sayin in '24. Meanwhile, they continue to lose 4* recruits to NW and are sifting through the 600 and 700s.

Sayin looking at LSU and Michigan. He’d be wise to avoid both. BK is a QB nightmare. Doesn’t sound like UofM will have much of a team. 😂

UGA fans seem confident in landing Sayin.

“I haven’t heard from Notre Dame”

Sounds he’ll be a a SEC commit, likely UGA, sooner than later.

Yeah reading that - including a trip to BK's house! - he sounds SEC-bound.
Feels like ND needs to make a call on Carr reclassifying sooner than later if we're going to have any shot here. The uncertainty on that is putting everything else - both for '23 and '24 QB recruiting - on hold, and the clock is ticking.

Hopefully they have something up their sleeve. Otherwise, this is a terrible look for Tommy Rees.

To land the kid willing to commit? Sayin likely won’t follow Carr if Carr is a 2023. Sayin won’t commit if Carr is a 2024. The Carr - Sayin combo was the dream but always unlikely, especially considering how insiders reacted when Arch chose Texas. I don’t think Sayin was always set on not following a big time name, but he has the opportunity to commit to the national champs without a QB in front of him. He’s gonna take it.

I don't know that it's a "terrible look" for Rees so much as uncertainty about Carr reclassifying. Which in turn has kind of frozen all other QB recruiting for both classes.
The uncertainty is completely understandable - Notre Dame has never done this before - and it's not really on Rees so much as Admissions. But would be good to sort it out sooner than later, is all.

I don't understand how Brian Kelly changing logos suddenly gives him more credibility as an HC who has overseen QB development. Take CMU and UC out of the equation entirely and focus strictly on ND. There is plenty there for other programs to argue against going anywhere near him as a QB developer.

I guess it's the power of the SEC.

I'm at the point now where I'd love nothing more than to see Kelly not win an NC at LSU, then whoever replaces him comes in and wins one.

I mean if they whiff on getting a 2023 QB.

Not to mention he had some less than stellar OC's at ND, particularly Molnar. Some nepotism and lazy hires as well.

How is it anything other than a terrible look to not even be checking in on Saying (apparently per what Julian was quoted to have said)?

We have, at the moment, a 5 star QB committed in the same recruiting class.

Should Rees follow up eventually on a personal level with Sayin if they were that close? Yes probably. But from a recruiting standpoint? No.

Besides the Carr commitment, Rees has been sus as a recruiter. MF and the defense doing work.

Just so happens he received the Carr commitment while under Freeman as HC and not Kelly. I take that as a hopeful sign of progress.

He was the point man on Buchner a few years ago too correct?

Buchner??
Yea, I think in about a week he’ll look better. Need Rico and company. Rico, Jagusah, Greathouse, Hanafin, Love go a long way. Not to mention Carr. I’m just hoping this ‘23 vs 24 QB fiasco gets resolved.

It's easier to develop a QB playing against lesser competition.

He thinks ND will be one of two finalist. Also says Love and McCullough hit it off real well. McCullough used his time with Love to teach him about defenses. ND checks off all the other boxes.

Could be A&M IMO. Don’t think anyone really knows including ND. Quiet kid.

I was very high on his hire because of what he was able to do at CMU and UC. The best compliment I can pay Kelly at ND in terms of QBs is that it was a mixed bag. That's being rather kind.

I thought Wimbush was going to be the bees knees and they totally ruined that kid both mentally and mechanically. It led to Ian Book probably ending up the flagship ND QB under Kelly.
