I mean, he must be pretty damn good. He performed well against the best at the Elite 11 by all agencies.

“Baylor commit Austin Novosad shined bright early on at the Elite 11 Finals, finishing in the top five on each of the first two days of competition. He was particularly impressive in the pro day setting, throwing with accuracy and zip, despite the exhausting regiment. More importantly, at least throughout the first two days, was the level of consistency he displayed in every level of the passing game. He was arguably the top passer in short to intermediate throws throughout the week and showed a surprising knack for both deep touch and arm strength.”

“Austin Novosad assembled the afternoon's top performance thanks to his velocity, accuracy, and consistency with which he conducted his entire effort. The ball leapt out of Novosad's right hand throw after throw and rarely died at the back end. Novosad's consistent velocity cannot be overstated. He stood atop the group with zip fostered by a repeatedly smooth, quick delivery. Novosad won the 'Golden Gun' accuracy challenge in the 2023 group as he finished his pro day reps with terrific initial velocity, finishing spin, and ball placement, whether in the pocket or on the move.”

I’d be stunned if he left the state of Texas, but I’m certainly hoping for the best.

Think its fair to say he's a mid-4 star talent wise after watching his recent tape / reading camp scouting reports. 247 is super high on him (#89 overall) and above Holstein and Lonergan. Really would be a solid recovery from getting pantsed by Dante.

After looking at his film he has a better arm than any QB we have recruited in the Kelly ERA.

you'd hope Bowen, Carr and any other localish commits would come along also

Yeah, I hope the staff knows how to play it. Each kid is unique, either a smaller, more personal setting or a big group of commits dropping the pressure. I just hope he falls in love with the school, staff and kids. He'd be an absolute steal for the staff. We were late on him, like nearly every other program, he'd really help round out the class at THE position that is currently a blackhole.

So what do we think our chances are, 50%, 75%, 90%?

What's TAMU going to show him that's any different than the first four times?
A large NIL check?
IDK. To me the biggest question here is how badly does A&M want Novosad. They had Holstein, and then were in the hunt for Dante. Novosad was not their priority. Is he now? If he is, it may be hard to beat A&M for a Texas kid with two parents who went there. (I realize Carr fits a similar profile but I wouldn't count on that lightning striking twice so soon.)

Their pool party is their premier recruiting event. Also not visiting says a lot more than visiting does.
It’d agree with that. Any change in visits is a sign ND may have changed things.
