Sniffed around on this kid after his season last year and didn't get back anything positive.

Right kinda prospect to be after though.

Anyone know if we have a shot here? Just seems like there's got to be somethingt, right?

Unfortunately I think it’ll be a OSU-A&M battle.

I believe Baylor is supposed to have some real momentum to hold on. A skim of 247 articles it’d handicap it as A&M then Baylor then OSU. If he visits ND then I’ll be intrigued. Really with any of these potential offers it’s all about a visit.

Wiltfong says he was close to committing to OSU

ISD says distance was most likely the factor

Read the same stuff and think this spells we aren't getting him. Distance would be improved by like what, 40 minutes flight time? Maybe Braylon and Greathouse can ease him on those concerns since they all know each other, but seems to be too much of an uphill battle

It’d think the only advantage ND has is even though they have Carr, it’s Angeli - X - Carr not Brown - X - Raiola. Realistically everyone knows OSU has recruited this cycle as intentionally a “skip” class of sorts.

I've seen people compare him to Jack Coan, with maybe a better arm. I understand that's not exactly exciting, and that having a QB that isn't a statue is always preferred, but with a better OL we probably don't think Coan is a statue. And if this kid comes in and gives us 3000 yards, 25 TDs/7 INTs, and 65% completion percentage....I'd take that. At least as a QB in the room.
If he comes in and does that we have a 10-2 season

On IB yesterday, the Elite 11 analyst said CJ Carr destroyed Nico at the Elite 11. CJ apparently had the highest score of any quarterback during the entire Elite 11 season at a score of 2023, upper or underclassman. Apparently his body and abilities have grown drastically in the past year.

Second highest score of the season was 22, attained by Austin Novosad.

No way we can get this kid.
I think we just got in on him a little too late. Sounds like it's between sticking with his Baylor commitment, or flipping to OSU or TAMU. But who knows - keep in mind this is a 17 year kid. My main question: why would any 2023 blue chip QB even think about OSU, Alabama, or USC with the depth those schools have at QB?

(1) The same reason they are blue chip athletes at 17: they are supremely confident and love competition (often to a fault)
(2) The sales pitch that "why take a chance - we have the track record on producing pros" is very persuasive (best coaches, practicing against the best competition, having complimentary pieces that can maximize your skillset, etc....)
(3) Prestige is very attractive
(4) Winning is very attractive
(5) TAMU pays
