If Estime and Kyren went after three, Love will definitely go after three. And that's fine. I'm usually an NFL skeptic and one to argue guys should stay in school, but RBs have a shelf life and he should make the most of his earning potential. Until that time, enjoy every carry.

He will go higher than either of those guys. Not a knock on them but he’s got tools to be best of the 3 and it’s not close.

There's no reason for him to come back in 26 barring a serious injury next year that tanks his stock. As an RB, going early is always preferable. If you're talking maximizing career earnings - the ideal situation for an elite RB is leaving after 3 years in college, getting drafted in the 2nd round (avoid the team 5th year), signing a 2-4 year big bucks contract after your rookie deal, and still being under thirty and being able to get a nice 3rd contract

That logic does not make one bit of sense to me IF (big IF, I know) IF he would earn more money at ND in 26 than he would in the NFL.
It still makes sense in terms of service years in the NFL. Just because he would “make more” at ND, he needs those NFL years for his pension and health insurance.

Staying in college would delay his second contract, the one that pays, it would be very dumb to do that and risk injury.

Not looking great. What do we think his "tweaks" have been? Low grade MCL issue? Meniscus?

You do everything you can to let him recover/develop/train and slowly ease him into contact in the fall. This shouldn't cause him to miss the start of the season next year but he needs rest.

I wish they'd just make the call to let him rest until the next round (if it should happen). He doesn't look confident or aggressive in his cuts and that is what makes Love special.

Yeah. It's not worth it. We've got three other guys who can go. Let them cook and let Love rest and after we win let's see how it feels in a week. Either way, if he needs surgery this offseason, no need for him to do spring ball. Get him healthy for next September.
