As an ND fan from birth who graduated from A&M - absolutely. I'm sure proximity plays a factor in my opinion, but I ended up loathing A&M sports because of how obnoxious and delusional their fan base was (and continues to be).I’m not a Texas fan by any means, but are we ready to hate A&M for real for real? I can feel the urge to seriously amp up the sh*t talk regarding their wackass coach and program. They just feel like natural enemies.
Maybe it's what's between the ears? Everyone talks about arm strength and athleticism, but one thing that doesn't show up on tape is the speed with how he's recognizing and processing things.I'll admit that I haven't seen more than 15 minutes of tape on Arch, but I'm not convinced he's a can't miss recruit. He's certainly good, but I haven't seen anything that made me think, "DAYUMMMM!" I hope he does well, but I tend to think about half that 5th star is based on his name only.
ND grad, no A&M affiliation except through friendships and I have solid respect for the institution and alum bonds. I consider it to be right up there with the Academies and ND in terms of core values and community spirit. As an ND fan from birth who graduated from A&M - absolutely. why does everyone get wished the best of luck? This guy is set for life regardless. If I've got luck to hand out (also assuming a limited supply) it is totally going to someone who needs it.
The only evidence that he might be a five-star talent between the ears is family blood lines, and even that doesn't mean anything until he gets into a college playbook and can start proving it. So I can see the argument that he really should just be rated as a mid-range 4-star QB based on what his film shows.Maybe it's what's between the ears? Everyone talks about arm strength and athleticism, but one thing that doesn't show up on tape is the speed with how he's recognizing and processing things.
I'm a Bears fan.Peyton had a top 10 defense with the colts maybe 4 times. In contrast Brady has had one just about every year he has ever played. Peyton's team were not crap because of Peyton but were crap without him... which is how they drafted Andrew Luck #1 after his DNP season. Colts 2-14 without Manning.... NE was 14-6 without Brady. As a Manning and Colts fan... a lot Manning's teams were bad.
I'm gonna extend this to schools that don't wear the color orange. Looking at you Tulane.Whatever. I've lost count of how many dickhead schools there are that start with the letter T and wear orange I hope to see be defeated as much as possible.
the only place I've seen this claimed is on this board. I honestly have not seen it written in any of the articles I've read about him over the years. The kid has wanted to go to Texas since he was like 10.
He has a video circulating from when he was 10 wearing a Texas jersey stating that he is going to play for Texas. So, he said it himself.the only place I've seen this claimed is on this board. I honestly have not seen it written in any of the articles I've read about him over the years.
Did he give an interview saying so where there is a link you can post? I haven't been able to find one with my Google Machine.
He had family members attend UT. He loves UT...and grew up hating a&m. It's bonafide.the only place I've seen this claimed is on this board. I honestly have not seen it written in any of the articles I've read about him over the years.

I saw the video as well, here it is:the only place I've seen this claimed is on this board. I honestly have not seen it written in any of the articles I've read about him over the years.

"He plays a very low level of competition, he hasn't progressed," Farrell added. "He had a really good freshman season, I wouldn't say regression but he hasn't progressed. And when he has had to step up against other competition, especially the playoff game where he looked awful. It just hasn't translated. Now, the Manning name is important. It's not just the name but what goes into that. Cooper was a tremendous athlete, obviously Eli and Peyton and Archie are great football minds. This kid has been taught from a young age. You have to assume based on the success of everyone else in that family; Cooper would have been very good as an athlete had he not had that athlete; that he's going to be good. So, high 3 star if the last name was Smith, throw in the Manning name to get to a 4 star, I'm not sure if you get to 5 though. Every time I watch other quarterbacks in this class it knocks Arch down in my head. That's not his fault, he's not participating, he's not competing, and this is all summer ball it's all about routes on air. But every time I look at a Malachi Nelson or Dante Moore I like them better. And I've got Arch sliding into the 5th/6th range in this class."
Not to disagree or change the topic, but on IB yesterday, the Elite 11 analyst said CJ Carr destroyed Nico at the Elite 11. If CJ is as good as they were saying, he should move up from his current #4 composite spot, imo.Mike Farrell hanging on to relevancy.
IMO Arch is more comparable to a Holstein / Lonergan caliber QB than Nico / Malachi / Dante.
Yep, red flag since it is a Aggie.Matt Luke left UGA after their championship. Seems like a weak troll attempt to get Texas fans rustled.
I have a hard time feeling like that's true. I call BS on that entire postArch is going to make out like bandit .... 15 million from Uncle Peyton to not play at Ole Miss plus 12 million from Texas. LOL
I thought Peyton acting like a jaded Vols fan was the most believable part of the post.I have a hard time feeling like that's true. I call BS on that entire post
