I mean, I usually don't read what Mike Frank posts and just focus on the reporters of ISD, but Frank is pretty adamant that Notre Dame is not in it strictly because of NIL stuff. So unless that changes, Keeley is completely off the table.
I get that he's from Florida, but unless he's homesick, it's sus to look at the Gators this late in the game unless $$. Particularly strange given the fact that he's taking an OV to Ohio State. Bama and Ohio State make sense from an elite program perspective. A serious look at the Gators is sus given the lack of interest in the past, lack of program success. Also, I thought Ohio State wasn't dropping bags. If true, OSU doesn't make sense either. I think this is a matter of I am definitely picking Bama, but I want them to beg and possibly offer even more $$ while I play this out.

Florida has always been on his list though. He has unofficialed there and stuff. I suspect that’s just a hometown team thing. Agree with you about Ohio State and the lack of a bag. That’s not their move.

Frankly if Keeley was straight up looking to get paid he’d have a different list of finalists (which would probably include Miami, for instance). What he’s been doing lately suggests he wants to play for an elite team that will also pay him, not that he’s entirely about the bag. And also that he’s not 100 percent sold on Bama (else why not just commit there?)

Personally that suggests to me we still have some modest shot here. But I guess we’ll see.

I think if we show up to the Shoe and put an ass whipping on Ohio State like Michigan did last year and emerge from that game as the #1 team, he will have second thoughts. Not sure it would matter as ND still is not going to do anything to jeopardize its integrity for the sake of a recruit. An ass kicking in the other direction (which most are expecting) and I doubt we have a shot at all. If we beat Ohio State and emerge as #1 or #2 the following day, ND and Marcus Freeman are going to dominate the media headlines, discussion, etc. for weeks. It would be like recruiting armageddon for mid west programs like Michigan and Ohio State. Keeley might not even be the most exciting recruit having second thoughts if that happened. ND going into Safelite and winning would set the program on fire and it would reverberate for years. The single most important thing Notre Dame could do to push the program forward is beat Ohio State, make Ohio kids second guess who's who in the midwest. Ohio State is largely the team that stands in the way of ND's title hopes in the future, not only bc we play them head to head two years in a row, but also bc signing kids from the vastly more talented neighboring state of Ohio that traditionally go to OSU, could tremendously help ND's program. We are dominating Michigan's recruiting, which is a good start. It would help to take more of Ohio.

It’s crazy how this kid was considered a perfect fit for ND on and off the field by all reporters despite his lofty ranking, and now we aren’t even being considered despite him being committed for over a year with his best friends also at ND. What could have possibly changed other than NIL to make him not even consider us moving forward?

Saban got the boosters attention. I wouldn't over think it.

I would suspect they are no longer best friends

We aren’t pay his family is more like it.
See I think this is critical. The presigning/cheat P4P ones are gonna get fucked because this is the scenario where family/handlers rob the kids blind. The post signing big boy nil’s (where we are definitely competitive) is guided directly to the athlete and him alone. Way easier for handler/uncle/bophades moore/or our street agent JerryRice to force payments into ways they can pirate with the cheat P4P as opposed to the post matriculation money where athlete just denies the criminals access to his bank account

Total speculation in my part but with an official to UF and those comments by Frank. Makes me think they’re wanting dollars for visits. That’s what Otha Moore supposedly wanted. I wonder if they’re trying to get some paper before he even signs.

I’ve never understood how a kid can be committed one day and then the next decommit and 2 other schools make up the full spectrum of percentage chance of landing him while the one he had been committed to for over a year is presumably 0%.
He is an 18 yo kid with the opportunity to make millions in an unregulated market before he is 21. Anything is possible. Ive been told this is the way

KK might have been a ND type guy but his family clearly isn’t. I can’t imagine having family that hooked on money that they don’t even care if it’s what he wants.

Matt Freeman mentioned a while back that this is going on. He even said that some schools are paying kids to NOT visit other schools.

I mean NIL is basically an unregulated market rn…. Isn’t this the the way it’s supposed to be? Lol. What is the problem? I wish wiz and RDU would show up and explain why this is the best possible path forward. Friedman is sitting up in his grave.

Has RDU been back at all since the move?

As much as I hate this current system I really cannot be angry with people looking to leverage for up front cash right now. These are huge numbers we’re hearing. It’s the unregulated Wild West out there if you can get that guaranteed signing bonus.

That’s BS. No way this is sustainable. Man I hope a lot of donors lose money and the coaches make their own job harder on them and these high profile kids don’t become stars and burns the system.
