Orlando Sentinel (I don't know how legit that paper is) also saying their source indicated the $13 million number is accurate.

Can't read the article as subscriber only, but if Jaden Rashada, the 7th ranked QB and 56th overall player, who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn at the All-American game, thought he was getting $13MM, I have beach-front property in Montana to sell him. That said, I don't buy that number one bit.

I buy it. But I buy Florida not wanting to pay and so he’s trying to bolt.

While its hard to believe, the rumor is that Miami was offering $9 million. So if we know Nico is getting $8m and Rashada was rumored to be getting $9m, I don't think its that much of a reach to think he got (or thought he was getting) more to flip to Florida.

The question is which power-5 school is desperate enough for a *good* QB to make him an offer even close to that at this point?

After the way this has played out, I wouldn't be surprised to see the collectives wise up and refuse to pay anything remotely close to that, knowing he will eventually need to find a home regardless.

I'd be surprised if it was half of that.

How much did Dante get? 2 mil? STEAL!!

How funny would it be for DM's dad to catch wind, wiggle out of their UCLA deal all while back channeling UF and settling for a cool 12.5M. Or backing out of UCLA deal and asking for Moore money. Clown shoes everywhere

For the moment there would be a lot of bad publicity for that kind of move (like all the negative attention directed at Rashada which prompted them to say they aren't trying to break the NIL while not showing up to campus).

But if you're the 15th guy to do it people will be more numb to that. So it's probably going to become more common over time.

This is hilarious. And it's funnier that there are ND fans that want ND to play this game.

It's underpromise and overdeliver, not the other way around.
What’s not hilarious is we have very little chance at Nattys without NIL Studs.

I feel like there isn't a more massive hit a program can take to recruiting than NIL deals publicly not being followed through. Let's hope more of this happens to these institutions and programs who are basing their entire operation on NIL.

See, the problem with this is, you are saying that a prospect taking money for his HS prowess is automatically a "stud". I think there are plenty of "studs" that don't need the upfront cash and will play at ND. Hence, the landing of so many talented players the last two cycles.

The Florida mental gymnasts at 247 think they're just gonna use the money for Rashada to get Walker Howard.

I was thinking the same thing as I read through the thread. These schools can see what he's doing and will be leery. Wouldn't be surprised to see him settle for a lot less.

This is like what happened in NCAA Football’s Dynasty Mode when you checked all the promise boxes in recruiting and then didn’t hit any of them after their first season.

Also, I know for a fact that the $13 million is no where close to being a thing.

Deal could be upwards of a million w/ incentives, but from what I hear, the holdup with Rashada is that he went back on the "incentivized" part and he's now demanding that the money gets paid upfront.

UF NIL Representative/ Senior Manager of Gainsville KIA:
$13 million structured as $2.5 million due payable within 7 calendar days of him winning the Heisman Trophy (For each Heisman Trophy win, capped at 4x occurances total) with a $3 million bonus for winning the nation championship game by 40+ points in any year of the deal (capped at 1x occurance only). Failure to hit contract targets will void claim to remuneration associated with such. Failure to achieve any contract targets by completion of contract (4 calendar years from signing) will trigger penalty payment of $13 million due from the signee to University of Florida, due within 7 calendar days.

Jaden Rashada: Im geTtinNG $13 MILLION nil FROM flORIDA.

No shit Sherlock. We're not sitting around thinking any of this money is just being handed out.
So the point being Einstein is you can have a very high contract headline dollar amount and the Player real upside barring lighting in a bottle might be actually 10% of the headline number. So debating the headline number is a relatively moronic thing to do.

Not as moronic as debating the moronic thing to do
