So what has Lenzy done to earn trust?
What did Styles do out there to earn trust?
What did Evans do in his first game to earn trust?

There were virtually several players on offense that were "trusted" and betrayed said trust tonight and kept playing. Yet, Merriweather makes, far and away, the best play on offense and yet he doesn't see the field after that.

No, not buying that. That's a coaching failure.
I was being sarcastic.
I am a big 'play the kids more' fan.

Angeli and Tobias for sure need to get way more playing time. Guys like Rocco need to get reps.

I’d sit Mayer too. Simply to protect his draft status. He needs to think about the NFL now and not risk getting hurt in a lost season.

I don't think OL is the issue. It wasn't the great rushing output we where getting used to, but the lack of absolute rushing success was the defensive gameplan. Rocco doesn't need to be thrust in - he will get his oppourtunity next season. Both guard spots will be open for competition.

I understand that the arguement you are trying to make is that the season is a lost cause so just throw in the younger guys for future, but putting someone into a lineup, while taking someone out, that has been quite successful the past few games is not a good coaching decision.

And it's a bad precedent to encourage your best players to sit out after your sixth game because the goals for the season won't be eclipsed, will show your team that you will allow your leaders to quit mid-season. Coaches want to win, period. You win by setting up your best players for success and to win games. If Marcus Freeman withholds Mayer for the rest of the season, then he shouldn't be coaching.

Tobias showed in two snaps that he is the only receiver that can get vertically with separation. I agree with you there.

Definitely didn’t mean to imply throw them to the wolves. It should absolutely be done in a calculating way.

MF needs to think about the future. Guys who will be back next year need to start getting game reps. Maybe they’re trying to manage the 4 game rule. And sitting Mayer is to protect his future.

I agree. It needs to be calculated where "developing but also planning to win" needs to be appropriately balanced.

We will see more freshman who have not played yet make some debuts later into the season - most likely at/after the Clemson game. The ones that could play right away have, and the ones that can play but needed more time, will play as well. BK would play his "second tier" true freshman later in the season, and still save themselves from burning a full year of eligibility.

Through 6 games he's got half of Lenzy's total yards on one catch, and he's got 1 more TD than Lenzy. I feel like we're out there playing with 10 men sometimes if Lenzy isn't really contributing in the passing game.
I've been on the Lenzy isn't that great train for a while... however last night that dude got fucked over by Pyne all night. Can't see him wide open multiple times, and when he does can't get him the ball.

Good thing Brian Hartline will play him more.

Can’t do it. Need a proven guy. Love him, but can’t take a risk. Need a for sure thing

Right? And he doesn't know Tommy's amazing offense well enough to play more often. Lol.
I am beyond fed up with the excuse that Tommy’s galaxy brain offense excludes all players except the pre-med walk ons.

It’s football. Guys with literal learning disabilities make careers out of it. You, boy genius Tommy Rees are the problem.

Happy he got his first TD, but should've had 2. The first one was in my endzone, the pass from Pyne wasn't perfect, but if Merriweather would've dove for the ball he scores.

Sit Lenzy and play Merriweather more! He gives Pyne another option besides Mayer.

There was a 3rd down play where we ran a cross action and had lenzy sit on a lil slant hitch perfectly passed the yard marker.

Payne sat in the pocket not even looking and missed Mayer.

I've seen a few people make a case for Lenzy, but I'm not sure. He's often struggled in tight coverage, and he hasn't been winning a lot of his 1 on 1s. We've seen balls off the helmet and hands. I don't think I'm bringing anything new to light there. I'm not surprised if Pyne is looking Mayer's way more often than not, he's the safety net and almost always money.

So where is Tobias playing next year? I am thinking USC or UW.

To have not played this guy in the prior 5 games and then talk in Pressers about so-called Trust issues between Player in Coaches was a major mistake by Freeman. How many TDS could Tobias have had if Rees wasn’t so in love with Lenzy??

Tell your fucking Coaches to play your best players, Marcus!!

With the transfer rules and money floating around I think last offseason will be seen as peanuts compared to this conning season. Last season was maybe a trail run but as more and more players normalize the transfer portal and agents, players, coaches, boosters get used to NIL non player is safe from year to year.

If he transfers then Tommy boy should never be allowed on campus again.

You have to think he will get a lot of throws his way over the next 5 or 6 weeks.

He should be over a 1,000 yard receiver next year. I see the starters next year being Tobias, Styles, Thomas. But there’s plenty of Freshman gonna be pushing for snaps

If I’m Lenzy, I switch to DB immediately especially if I want a career in the NFL. Tobias needs to play a lot. Jayden needs to keep playing. Zo obviously.
