EJ Holland, Michigan Rivals’ guy (former ND Rivals’ guy & now infamous troll/ND hater), just put in his Futurecast for ND.

Personally, I think Tobias is a 5 star or elite prospect. I think he's that good. He's got very good speed for a guy that size and he's also very agile. Loose hips and shoulders.

Landing Tobias and CJ in the same week would be absolutely huge for Tommy, Del, and the offense. This should not be understated.

And let me say that it's absolutely embarrassing that 247 has Tyler Morris ahead of Tobias, Andre Greene Jr., and Kaden Saunders. We clearly don't watch the same sport.

The one dude on Rivals who says he is a coach at Naz thinks Morris is an elite, 5 Star WR & gets really upset if anybody says anything otherwise. Pretty sure he is the same guy who went on the Michigan board & posted a multiple paragraph, scathing rant about ND choosing Buchner over McCarthy & how no more Naz kids would ever go to ND again.
The day Morris committed to Michigan the coach was on the board saying he talked to him daily & ND was the leader…LOL

It’s pretty quiet around here for potentially landing one of the best WR recruits of the Kelly era.

So, let’s get it started. What tandem would you take? Styles/Colzie? Or, Merriweather/Williams?

Follow up. Of those 4, who is your favorite?

I feel like this board tends to not get very invested with west coast recruits. But a Midwest three star are always favorites.

Anyways, as a tandem i prefer Styles and Colzie because of how they compliment each other. I really think all four will be hits but my favorite might be CJ Williams. I know he doesn't have the speed to take the top off a defense but he isn't slow. I also love how shifty and physical he is in open space. I really love the idea of him in the slot.

Much better the last couple of years or so, but the history of recruiting WC kids probably has something to do with it.

Tough question. I think I like Williams and Meriweather more because Colzie and Meriweather seem similar to me. Styles is very agile and CJ is a superior route runner. Both bring different skill sets but I like CJ and Tobias because I think when it comes to blocking that tandem will be better. That is essentially my tie breaker between to two.

Favorite overall would be Colzie but Meriweather is right there. The tie breaker for me is just that Colzie is more farther along physically.

Styles and Colzie. Both talented but it also gives us a better shot of bringing in Sonny Styles

I am stoked. Merriweather reminds me of "x" WR recruit that every year I watch their film and go man I would like to have him and it never happens. Well, que the "its happening" gif.

With that said, I still think Styles might beat him out for my favorite. Solely because Styles isn't in the typical mold of the WRs we have been bringing in of recent, and Merriweather is (although I think his game is a bit different than Colzie, Thomas, Williams).

As for a tandem. I am leaning Merriweather/Williams, but it is damn close.

I'd like to say congrats to Tobias and Im very excited to have him on the team but conversely I'm also ready to start flexing in the pass game and I remain unchanged in my opinion that wont happen soon. Seeing is believing.

For me it’s Styles/Colzie and Styles as my favorite. But it’s close on both. Mainly because of how much I like Merriweather. I’d have them in order of Styles, Merriweather, Colzie, and Williams.

I like Williams the best I think, and not just because Rivals has him as a 5-star.

I know he doesn't have the top-end speed that Bama receivers have, but he still reminds me of the type of guy that Bama gets that steps in and plays right away because he can fit in pretty much anywhere on the field. He runs routes well enough and is strong enough to be an outside guy, but he's a technician that can abuse the middle of the field (which is well known based on how Tommy and Del are recruiting him).

Just get a top-end talent and plug him in wherever you need him, then let him shift to his most dangerous position once the depth chart is clear for him to be the top dog. That's what I think/hope Williams is.

But don't get me wrong... everything about the '20 and '21 classes at WR is shaping up to be really good based on diversity and versatility of the various skill sets.

That's probably the most impressive part of this two year WR haul/group. We could make the case for any one of these 4 being the best of the group. Means they all must be pretty damn good.

I really like Rees's plans for Williams in the slot. Styles at X. Colzie and Merriweather at W. And, run more 4 WR sets so all these guys are on the field together.

Pretty crazy to think we could have this level of talent on the field at the same time.

I like the tandem of Styles/Colzie better. I have a feeling next year both could be starters and hopefully they both see some PT this year.

Kudos though to ND for landing back-back great WR class.

Much better the last couple of years or so, but the history of recruiting WC kids probably has something to do with it.

You mean the long history of California recruits being Notre Dame friendly and so crucial to NDs recruiting success they've manufactured a rivalry with Stanford so they can end the season in CA every year? Or the long history of talented CA athletes being integral parts of Notre Dame's roster?

Seriously, there is this narrative on this board that doesn't match reality.

I have Williams in front of Colzie which is why I picked that duo.

Another thing I didnt mention earlier which could really put some distance between Styles and Merriweather is if he becomes a stud in return game.

Come on now, when was the last time ND didn't have serious production from Westcoast kids? You don't think ND playing SC/Stanford influences AZ, NV, HI, OR, WA kids too? Buchner's about ready to be the multi-year face of this program on the heels of the all time winningest QB in ND history and I'm going Saturday to by my bathroom tile from the '64 Heisman winner.

ND playing in Cali is also about the universities outreach to a Catholic population, sizeable alumni / fanbase and future ND students. In 2014-2016 (that I know of - while I was in the ND Club of Orange Co) OC sent more incoming freshmen to ND than any county in the US.

CA, NYC Metro, Chicagoland are the 3 pillars of ND. It's in the DNA.
