Eh. Coming out of HS, how big was Nicholas Petit-Frere really?

I was trying to think of another kid who seemed "thinner" coming out and it came to me-- Walter Rouse. He's 322 at Stanford now apparently.

Speaking of kids putting on the feed bag, I was looking at the Bears roster awhile ago and saw that Bars is now 6-5/334 and Mustipher is 6-2/332.

Wagner is obviously lean but I like his feet and he's got those long arms so that's a good starting point. Eat up, Aamil.

Kid really is built like a SDE

Trevor Mendolhson in the pic above on Wagner's left was listed at 6'7 at Marshall when he played. Wagner looks to be around 6'4 or 6'5 if that is the gauge. If he has long arms and moves well like everyone says, that should still be fine.

He is athletic. long arms and talented. If he doesnt work out oh well. But he could be a third year starter that could turn into an NFL talent. I am high on this prospect.

With how surprising this was I’m wondering if the staff knew it all along? How did this get by so many?

Per Wiltfong and Loy, none of their sources on the staff were expecting this. In fact, it sounds like the most plugged in recruitnik at Kentucky, didn't even know the decision until 30 minutes before announcement.

I wonder if the back to back to back losses soured him on the idea of Kentucky. I mean, they were riding high at 6-0. They've got to be upset with the last few weeks.

I really hope that is not what ultimately led him to making his decision. Incredibly shortsighted and based on what people are saying of him, I don't believe that was the case.

From the video the whole family looked pleased except for the woman on the far left. Lol. She be like” well ok then” I’m wondering if they led on Kentucky on to avoid any local backlash or if the staff was as surprised as we are.

highest rated OLM in our class...and seemingly the most questioned by "experts" here.

ND says he's 6-6 260 in their signing day press release. Should put to rest the nonsense that he's too small.

It's not the size that is in question as much as it is the frame. Does he have the framework to add healthy weight? That is the question

Id far prefer to see him become a long dancing bear ot but the question is did he play d line in high school at all or are we just saying this bc his hips and shoulders are lean for o line?

We have AA Tackles for a couple of years and can recruit at least as good as Wagner (no disrespect to him, he's a very good OT prospect) in the meantime to develop. I have no idea whether or not he played DL in high school but the little bit of film of him I did peak at showed a guy who's got a D-lineman in him if he wanted. I'd love it if he were to become a dancing медведь out there of course, however I think that our DL can always use an influx of talent that he seems to possess. Our DL recruiting will always lag behind the OL, or at least has in the last 20 years. Also, yes, the body does seems lean.

By stars the dline may lage behind o line but production Elston keeps having one of the best d lines in the country and his d line is playing two at every position. I think a true Ronnie Stanley style power forward offensive tackle may have more value then a small three tech big d end project is all. But I actually agree with you that no matter how i squint he looks far more like Foskey then Eichenberg body wise and when I try to imagine 40 more lbs on him I keep seeing Justin Utopo and Tyler Stockton in my mind when they blew up to a 300 lbs that didnt belong and their bodies looked like a weird ass snapchat filter

I'd like to give Elston as much talent as possible. This year, he's had to do a lot with less than usual and it's been a great effort by Elston and the players both. In Wagner's case, I wonder whether the talent allocation isn't better used on the other side. It's going to be answered one way or another in that if he can't gain put on a good 40 lbs, he'll be switched over. ND lists him at 6'6 260 right now. A 6'6 285/6'7 290 DE with his athleticism would give Elston something to really work with.
