Everhart, Jarel Williams. There are others I just listed top of mind

Everhart was never an option. He committed to TCU over 2 months ago and it was apparent even before then that he wasn't going to leave the state.

I don't remember there being any real traction with Williams. I remember his name being brought up a few times around the time ND was still amidst trying to land CJ and Merriweather, but I've heard next to nothing about ND touching base with him.

Better pray that Walker sticks.

These boards are going to be unreadable up until the Fiesta Bowl week.

Fucking recruiting. Haven’t had this much drama in years. Need some impact receivers in 23.

Good lord. How has it come to this?

How is it that the staff came to the conclusion that this was the best we could do?

One guy who's from a USC feeder school and has taken multiple visits there for months.

Another guy who takes multiple visits to other schools and is actively listening to other coaches as if he's uncommitted.

How is it that we were somehow content with taking only 3 receivers with 2 of them actively looking elsewhere, in a class where we really need to take 4?

None of this makes sense and it's making me furious!

You know what the damn occums razor tells me he is gonna sign and told staff clearly he was signing. Otherwise I can’t see them not cutting ties with this. I mean he may be good but he is no Randy Moss at this stage. I mean the public look of your committed needed receiver at kansas state two days before signing day is unacceptable.

I want to believe this, but on the flip side, they went this long letting CJ visiting USC every other weekend it seemed while committed and seemingly did nothing to pursue plan B receivers.

This shouldn't have gotten to this point. Speaks volumes about Del and the lack of communication and bond he has with these WR prospects. This should've been a layup for ND since they've had more time to develop a connection with a commit instead of a short summer intrigue with Michigan. Done with Del either way, this WR group is a sad one because ND defense is going to be elite. Special defense with no fire power on offense is a bit scary in terms of getting back into the CFB playoffs.

Also maybe university said no academically and this is him finding a soft landing if Bama fills up

If that were the case, then again, why did we not pursue plan B's? Worst case scenario, you take 4 and eventually 3 receivers instead of being left with only 2.

This whole fiasco makes absolutely zero goddamn sense!

A hallmark of the BK administration. RB, WR, OL, QB... every position on O except TE has experienced poor prospect pool numbers.

At least OL figured it out and it appears Tommy has learned his lesson and adjusted his model for '23 & '24

What kind of precedent would it set to just dump this kid? It’s not about sour grapes. It’s about word is bond. Williams should have been cut the second he started disparaging Angeli. Character has to matter, not for the RKG shit, but for the fact that you’re either invested or you’re not. These bullshit games need to stop being enabled.

I for one don't want to do what we just did for 12 years, fill the roster with a 3-star player who's never going to be a difference maker and take up a spot for 4 years. Much rather get a 1 year rental through the portal.

Even in the unlikely event he signs with us he'll be in the portal taking recruiting trips again soon. Anyone with offers from ND and Mich who goes on a trip to Kansas freakin State must love the trips. If he signs with us he'll be doing visits by spring break.

Why are people personally attacking kids now?

I remember last year the majority were convinced the Logan Diggs was flipping to LSU and some very critical comments were posted about him as well. My guess as those same folks are loving him now. Let's wait and see what Walker does. He is in a tough position making a big decision at an early age. God bless him.

I'm going to reserve my words for what he decides. No point in being critical with him now. In 24 hours, we'll know.

That being said, he put himself in this tough position, so it's hard to be sympathetic towards him. Had he stayed solid in his commitment and not looked around as much as he had, he'd probably be facing far less criticism.

He's now in a place where if he flips, he should brace himself for some very harsh words coming his way and I can't say he wouldn't deserve some of it.

First of all, I’m totally on board with the mindset that if you’re looking then so are we. As it goes to committed prospects taking OV’s. For whatever reason we decided not to that this year.

But…we can do both. We can recruit elite prospects that have some diva’ish traits to them while also building sustainable depth charts.

This was all easily avoidable with just recruiting 3-4 more prospects, that’s it. Crazy

VIP link from 247. If both Michigan and ND feel good, someone is being lied to. Have to think it’s ND IMO.

ND being lied to, right?

Situations like this is where I feel like the recruiting “sourcing” has become just Gug vs Michigan equivalent of the Gug is tough. ND just won one versus Wisconsin. Wish there was some stuff from locals like trainers or HS links etc because that’s where the truth sits in Walker or Schrauth type situations. C’mon Ponchatoula Times! West Coast 247 guys are best at that.

Yeah. Like what’s the logic behind an “announcement” between two schools when you’re already committed to one. If you’re telling two schools the same thing + having an announcement you have to think ND is the one being lied to. If not, this is the weirdest recruitment in years.

Also, don’t want to share too much (there is a good deal of people want to sign up for 247 and read full update) but apparently Michigan is pitching him with NIL money whereas ND is not because we don’t buy recruits (yet).
