This will be interesting to follow regardless of his commitment to ND. Is he a DB or a WR? Ole Miss wants him at WR and he committed to ND as a WR. To my knowledge they have not spoken to him about the possibility of playing DB like they did with Groves. Now, Michigan and Bama offer as a DB.

Edit: Singer mentioned in his thread today that Walker has spoke with the staff about playing DB.

I have to believe he's had these position conversations with the staff.

They very well could've and it just didn't make it's way to the various sites. I just haven't come across an interview with him talking with Del about it like they were actively doing with Groves for awhile there. If Singer interviews him, hopefully we'll find out.

His original recruiter was Terry Joseph, which doesn't necessarily mean anything based on the coaching staff's geographical responsibilities... but I think I remember one of the articles mentioning that Joseph kept telling Walker's coach that he'd make a great safety.

Maybe it has been a case of Inception from the start lol

Wasn't this broached with Groves from the start? Seems like this is something that has just percolated so it's not surprising no one outside of the coaches knows. If Singer is doing his job we'll find out.

I don't believe it was from the very start. We offered and he committed to UM shortly after. Once he decommitted the staff made a push to get to know him and that's when they started to talk about the Cam hart experience. I guess I just found it interesting that we had a guy committed that was arguably a better ATH option for that role and they never brought it up. But, you could be right and we just never heard about it. I always just assumed it was because Groves publicly stated he liked DB more than WR and maybe Walker didn't.

I say ND brings him in as a DB and switch him to WR if needed, similar to what ND did with Cam Hart.

College Football Recruiting is basically old women watching their daytime "stories" back in the 80s.

My wife always jokes that ND football is my guilty pleasure, my celebrity gossip, etc. I find most of that stuff deplorable but I can't pull myself away from the machinations of ND football.

Ah the 80's... GH, Kids, Days. We called them "my shows" back then. My Grandmas called them "my stories" cuz they used to listen to them on the radio before tv.

Strange how many people were into it. We watched Luke and Laura's wedding on a projection big screen in our HS auditorium. There were 500 people in there.

History lesson for you young 'uns. Soaps started on TV in the early 50's and were called Soap Operas because they were sponsored by companies like Tide, Oxydol, Dreft, Breeze, Deft, etc. Your mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers would have them on the RCA while they cleaned the house and did laundry. See the connection? Never watched any of them myself, but these are the ones I remember being on when I was playing with Tinker Toys and shooting my Roy Rogers pistol.

Search For Tomorrow 1951
Love of Life 1953
The Guiding Light 1951
The Secret Storm 1954
The Edge of Night 1956
As The World Turns 1956
Days of Our Lives 1965
The Young and the Restless 1973
General Hospital 1963

After all that's been written on Amorion, percentages on him being in the class at any position?

No less than 50%. Maybe the reason he committed in the first place was that he loves ND (was a fan growing up or something), if so he will stick. If he just joined because we were the best offer he had until that point then he probably goes.

Probably important to pass that ISD posted an article interviewing Walker, where he stated that he was 100% locked in to ND, twice. And he talks to the staff daily. And he's visiting in a week.

Yeah, I'd say the odds of him sticking as of now are pretty good.

Yep, had good things to say about Del. I now think he is 100%.
Said ND wants him at WR but he always had a defensive mind set and he would be happy to play either.
Says ND fans sit back and watch.
Suddenly sounding like a great get.

Great exclusive interview by Singer.

Being first here is beyond massive. The “I knew, we knew, I knew they knew” how good I am type comments he made numerous times. Still think the visit at end of June is massive to shut the door

Him telling the staff first about visits is a good sign

“That’s my guy” about Steve is why I thought getting Angeli committed even earlier might have been a better move

Agreed. It sounds like they’ve stayed really committed to recruiting him. Which seems to be benefiting them now. Mad props to them. They really must’ve liked what they saw from the beginning.

That's the part I'm most impressed with. The staff deserves a ton of credit - they offered and secured a commitment while he was just inside the top 1000, now he's positioned to make a major move and could play O or D. We always hear complaining about how the staff is late to offer guys...well they found Amorion in Louisiana before any of the other big dogs.

Good interview. I love he reached out to Singer. Props to Amorion for handling this well as it cant be easy. Seems he is mainly talking to offensive coaches most. Didnt mention anything about Freeman.

this is why i tend not to get too worked up about WR recruiting. No matter the WR coach BK has seemed to identify guys early.

Chris Brown, Will Fuller, Corey Robinson, Jalen Guyton (although transferred), and Kevin Stepherson all come to mind as guys who ND identified early.

Loved the interview. I definitely want this kid to be Irish. Has a chip on his shoulder but is also supremely confident in his abilities. I think it’s worth noting that he is very aware of the Nd fans who weren’t thrilled with his commitment.
