Man is WR recruiting in a place so far. I have no clue how any of this is going to shake out.
That's putting it mildly lol. Hopefully we land a couple big fish and how this plays out really won't matter at all.

Good or bad (place) ?

I love where they're at with Merriweather & Williams.

I really like where they're at with a couple of other guys too.

And I could have a new favorite by the end of the day...

On Walker, I don’t think this is over and I don’t think he’s a lock to stay in the class. We have quite a few examples of how this can play out both ways so it’s pretty normal speculation. Commitment out of left field, without seeing campus, telling other programs what they want to hear. The word is the staff is going to be a little more lenient with visits but how much so will probably depend on the prospects. There is a reason it was such a big deal for Tyson Ford to say he wasn’t taking other visits.

I think it’s going to come down to two things and they’re somewhat connected. 1. What the staff thinks of Walker. 2. What else the staff can get at WR. If they move on Alic and take an Anderson commitment then things get dicey for Walker. As, he’s not scheduled to visit until end of June. And, you have to factor in the possibility for Merriweather and CJ. Also, numbers are necessary due to depth chart so it’s equal parts important to get numbers and to not get wrapped up in long dramatic recruitments while missing on other guys like Anderson/Ayomanor. But, also get talent, Merriweather/Williams.

I don’t think WR recruiting is nearly as bad as all of this sounds. With or without Walker. Nick Anderson is a visit away from a commitment in a lot of folks minds. Legit 4 star talent that some people say is the best route runner in Texas. ISD guys have been calling for Merriweather to ND for awhile now. ND leads for CJ. It all depends on how he plays it out to whether or not we get the immediate satisfaction of that via his summer commitment.

If the class is Ayomanor, Anderson, Merriweather, and Williams. Nobody will care about Walker or the current consternation about WR recruiting.

I am very confident Notre Dame lands Merriweather. Anderson seems like a lock at this point. Williams is looking likely as well.

See ya!

I don’t really know? I just hate not feeling confident about the big time names ND is in on when receiver is such a huge need in the class.

Like Arrow posted above, there is a lot of confidence on ND’s side of things with regards to Merriweather and Williams. I can’t speak for your feelings on the matter but if we follow those in the know, they feel pretty good.

A class of Ayomanor, Anderson, Merriweather, and Williams would be a fantastic finish, especially with how dicey WR looked a few months ago. My only question is whether any of those four guys can consistently take the top off the defense (genuinely asking because I don’t know).

I think Merriweather runs very well at that size and he’s very agile. In the right offense I think he has very good YPC potential.

Ayomanor, Bradshaw and one of Anderson, Merriweather, Williams

Kaden Saunders can take a top off a defense . . . The push to flip continues.

Saunders is the guy that would totally alter my perception of this offensive class if we could somehow flip him. Penn State has early games against Wisconsin and Auburn. If they lose both, Franklin’s seat would likely be pretty damn hot and may give us a chance.

Bradshaw is an interesting case. He's a dynamic slot/offensive weapon but it seems like he's down the list. Every time his name comes up it's, well, if he doesn't have a visit lined up that will tell you where he stands.

Sandy B, the AD, is finally feeling the heat with her golden boy, Franklin, from the boosters. Let's just say he has a very short leash this year. I heard if he has 3 losses he is gone. They also have to be competitive with OSU and Michigan. Barron, the president, is also gonna retire in 2 years or sooner. Also views Franklin in high regard. The boosters are ready for a change. Everyone wants Matt Rhule but he won't go back to Happy Valley unless shit hits the fan in Carolina big time.

As it relates to Saunders, I have no Intel to the football program since a former coach was let go, just some of the politics of PSU now. But if Franklin gets canned that means an entirely new staff. Which means Saunders is back on the table.

Also PSU still loves Joe Moorehead. He would be 1b to Rhule. Either works.

And it doesn’t appear Mr. Walker has his official set up with ND as of yet……..unless I missed that somewhere.
