I think it’s fairly easy for ND to take freshman transfers and grad transfers. It’s the sophomores and juniors ND can’t really take with rare exception

Good question. Does a coach's or professor's kids get in under lesser requirements?
I doubt it’s lesser requirements. More thinking that someone like McCollough would be well aware of the transfer/admissions requirements at ND and might have, say, encouraged his son to take a class or two at IU that might ease his way, just to keep the option open.

"After careful conversations with my family Dad, an assistant coach at Notre Dame..."

Big time want. Give me Fiske, Dasan, and a dominant inside linebacker for defensive transfers. Maybe a DB too. Hart and Morrison returning solidifies that a bit for us though

yeah lol that’s why we got torched by Marshall, OSU, and USC’s backup running the ball against us.
You don’t recruit over talented freshman with high ceilings that are making expected progress with lower cieling guys who will stunt development. If the staff thinks the young guys can’t emerge, it’s a different story.

Why? Especially given his father is on our actual coaching staff? If he was a WR maybe, but Ohio State is not better at developing pass rushers than we are.
He was committed to OSU before following his dad at IU

It’ll be OSU or ND IMO. Coin flip to say which.

I can see the logic behind him going to Ohio State, but I'm thinking this is ND.

Yes, he was committed to Ohio State. He also de-committed and chose Indiana to follow his dad. He never had the chance to flip after his dad left IU to come coach at ND.

Stands to reason that now that he has a chance to transfer out, he follows the reason he signed with Indiana in the first place.

Not to mention, Ohio State has JT and Jack Sawyer returning in '23. ND has potential in Botelho, but so far he's only flashed and hasn't shown anything that would pose a threat to somebody like Dasan. Safe to say, he has a much clearer path to PT at ND than he does at Ohio State.

They’re is a guy on a Notre Dame Football facebook page saying Deland McCullough is gonna accept a job with his good friend Deion Sanders at Colorado. Could be annonced as early as tomorrow. Let’s hope the guy is wrong.

Loy says that OSU is the favorite, doesn't feel great about ND's chances.
