Pretty cool that they got to do an in-person interview with Eli. Hopefully more of these on campus interviews to come.

Love this pickup! People have said he's a legit 6'6" so that is good. He seems to be much more of a receiving threat than Staes or Nickel. I could see him pushing other guys for playing time immediately.

His coach was emphatic that he's 6-6 and change... barefoot.

Good news for sure.

I can't recall where I heard it, but the staff is super high on his athleticism, even comparing him favorably to Eifert

His hoops vids are impressive for a football player. He's not a great player but he runs the floor, collects, and explodes. Very translatable & exciting skillset.

Very good all around athlete. This is the type of guy that once he becomes a full time football player has the chance to explode. Love the pickup.

Welcome to ND Eli! #TEU

The comparisons here are going to range from smaller Cole Kmet who went to the combine at 6-5/260 to larger Troy Niklas who measured in at 6-6.5/270.

In between, you have Kyle Rudolph who was 6-6/259 for his combine but was 6-6/229 on his final 247 HS prospect profile.

Looking at him, he's gonna be 250 pretty quick, after that he'll want to be as strong as possible without losing speed so 260 is an easy weight to guess for his last year at ND and draft weight.

Gonna be a stacked room his freshman year. The question is how does the post Mayer vacuum fill? How do snaps get distributed between Bauman, Evans, Raridon in '23? Berrong too but he's gonna be the Tremble like H-Back guy that does all the tricky stuff. And THEN there's Staes and that's too much for my head to handle at this time.

Can any of them play snaps at the X like Mayer, you think?

Long ways to go to project that far ahead but I would guess Raridon would be the most likely and I'd probably say it's likely he will at some point. Really good receiving/ball skills already.

I really don't want that to happen again. No offense to Del, but if we can't develop any of our dudes at WR into meaningful guys in the boundary he needs to go.

Standing by mine, too. I'll chose the side that has, actual, data.

your data is based on two guys he didn't even recruit to the best of my memory. so again, proof is in the pudding. He's recruited decently, but hasn't developed talent that he's recruited. can't lean on two guys that signed over 5 years ago forever. time to move on and show me what you've done for me lately...AKA little to nothing.

You should listen to Miles' interview on the Pod of Gold podcast two weeks ago and hear what he has to say about Del.

Again, I'm simply pointing out your logic as incorrect. Saying Del hasn't developed players is simply incorrect. He has shown he can and has. Do I want to have a higher percent hit rate? Of course. Do I want to have a higher number of stud recruits? Of course. Is it all on Del though? I am not sure. Could be Kelly, could be Rees, could be Polian (former recruiting coordinator).

Simply put, your comment was too binary.
