Greathouse was injured on Thursday. You want a coach to change the gameplan at the last minute, to something they hadn't practiced all week?
He wouldn't have needed to change his game plan if it was a competent one to begin with...... For the same reasons people rightfully so are giving Rico a pass, having greathouse wouldn't have changed much, especially not the game plan.

Staes was in for 29 plays, 13 of which were passes, so he probably was in for a few of his catches.

I absolutely guarantee that the ones who are the loudest and most obnoxious on this site have zero.
Kind of what I was thinking as well……there is just so much that the average football fan (like me) just doesn’t know about what goes into the training, development, game-planning, injury knowledge, etc. behind the scenes. Even assessing game performance is so complicated. I certainly wouldn’t have time to do thorough game film reviews to dig into all the nuances of execution and so on. That’s why it’s a full time job.

I was a tackling dummy for football players my freshman year in high school. I have 0 coaching experience in any sport. My Dad graduated from ND and used to take me to games as a kid. There was always a buzz in the house when the Blue & Gold arrived in the mail. I was busted for excessive calling of Tom Lemming's recruiting line at age 12.

Dave Casper quote. An IE member from way back used to have part of this in his sig line:

“I feel that I am the only one in the stands that understands, clearly, that I have no real idea what’s going on out there.

“I see the people in the stands that think they know what the coach should do, and what he should call, and I have no real idea…”

sounds like freeman confirmed Eli is able to play this week, now we see does he get in (could see him maybe getting in first on return units)

Yeah, there's a lot of TE use on special teams. Rairdon might also be used as the third TE on short yardage sets instead of Cooper Flanagan although Cooper's been good in that role.

It was good to see him finally healthy and productive on Saturday. Hopefully the first of many TDs in his career.

Really rooting for this kid to stay healthy. If he does, the sky is the limit.

Mitch aint gonna be even kitting up til October next year
That’s why it’s crucial for Eli to stay healthy between now & then. Mitch can’t risk returning early. We’ve seen what happens when an ACL is rushed. It may be medically cleared but not ready for what these dudes go through on the field.
