The way it's trending with transfer portal free agency and NIL, ND is really behind the 8 ball. ND has to find a way to compete while maintaining their ideals. Taking only graduate transfers isn't gonna work and neither is just letting players fend for themselves on NIL.

It’s already happened.
Domani Jackson, the 5 Star USC commit, has openly told Michigan he would only consider them if they fixed their NIL process. USC immediately expanded his NIL package afterwards. Michigan is in the process of trying to finalize theirs now too.

They were already out there.
They visited Merriweather then went down to see Morrison in Arizona. Swung by to see Lucas while there.

It’s big boy recruiting. Freeman is going to throw everything he’s got at these kids. No reason to have put in all the hours in prior to give up at the bitter end.

If true, that's good news for us. As of the moment it appears to be a coinflip between Bama and A&M, but they both might fill up by next week.

Look at his Twitter feed. He looks like that with all coaches recruiting him. Have no clue if we have a real shot, but basing it off a perceived lack of emotion in a picture doesn’t carry much weight.

FWIW there is a weird uncertainty with Lucas now that Elko left. It was going to be A&M. Now piecing together Loy/Singer/BamaOnLine guys it’s probably Alabama but no one is particularly confident and ND was basically out and then back in. Nobody should expect ND here but it’s a odd non-zero chance
