Haha every time

Glad it's not just me, my mind is always latching onto connections like this and won't let go.

Considering ND Stadium now plays the Halloween theme anytime Michael Mayer makes a catch, maybe they'll play that music when Kollie picks up a sack lol.

Btw.
Watched Polians presser.

He mentioned Blake Fisher by name, in helping calm Princes nerves after the Lea departure...

The mayor strikes again!

Blake is the man. These guys are all awesome, but after hearing Blake's backstory and character he's my early favorite.

Oh man, this is great. Didn't Jaylon and Manti win the HS and Collegiate Butkus awards in the same year, 2012?

Get this out to every LB recruit in the country!

I think you’re right. Good times.

Funny timing.

Just finished a deep dive into his film this morning.

Can someone explain to me how he was not a 5 star? Just penalized because a rural school and no competitions this year?

I haven't see such a "for sure star" since Jaylon's film.

Butkus. Biggest miss in ND history. Kuharich at his finest.

Thought the story was he was wanting to get married and Notre Dame didn’t allow married students. That’s the story I always heard.

Interesting note about possible changes in the final recruiting rankings for those that care. With the Butkus award list since Manti, here are the composites from 247:

2008 Manti Te'o 0.9977
2009 Jordan Hicks 0.9962
2010 Tony Steward 0.9917
2011 Noor Davis 0.9747
2012 Jaylon Smith 0.9987
2013 Rae McMillan 0.9896
2014 Malik Jefferson 0.9934
2015 Caleb Kelly 0.9847
2016 Dylan Moses 0.9922
2017 Sol Tuliaupupu 0.9582
2018 Nakobe Dean 0.9928
2019 Justin Flowe 0.9967
2020 Prince Kollie 0.9325

Only two were 4 stars prior to Kollie, and the rest (10) were 5 stars. His 239th and 218th OA rankings at Rivals and ESPN may get the needed change and his comp should be higher with this in mind. 247 has him highest at 91 OA which is also historically low end for Butkus award winners.

I noticed too that he’s the lowest rated Butkus winner. I guess the counter to that is he won it in a year where a large portion of the country did not play. Either way, glad he’s coming here.

God I wanted Noor Davis so bad. What a bust.

I think he gets another bump in 247's January final rating. Barton has been gushing about him lately.

He's a top 5 player at this position, no doubt. I actually like him better at BUCK than ROVER. He has a lot of natural linebacker skills. I think we have a lot of options at ROVER (Moala, Pryor, Liufau, Simon, etc.) that can excel in that role, whereas I think Kollie is Year 1 player and Year 2 starter inside.

Agreed.

Currently:
247comp: 10th OLB
247: 5th OLB
Rivals: 16th OLB
ESPN: 25th OLB

I agree and I think that Khari Gee is probably a better fit at Rover anyway.

Same. Prince Kollie plays Buck at a shredded 225 and Kollie is a Rover around 210-215

Haha, maybe he plays Mike as well. We don't even need another LB on the field. Edited it above.

Freeman probably feels good he didn’t have to recruit this one.

I said this in another thread but what a group of Kollie, Burnham, and Sneed would be.
