I wouldn't get my hopes up. He said that Bama and Oregon were the dream schools and then committed to OSU. So I would expect those teams to be ahead of ND.

Expected.

Rather have Tucker and let Smith go to Kentucky or Louisville and think about what he did.

I don't think that's the case. Smith is grossly underrated and the list of schools wanting him is growing. I think Bama is going to be tough to beat if he does in fact de-commit. His teammate Payne just got an offer from Bama as well.

I know. Should have put italics on it.

He's cousins with Shaun Alexander who's also from Cincy (metro) and he said Bama was his dream school back in the process based on that I'm sure.

Could've been different if Alexander would've followed his brother to ND. Ends up ok for him, turns out he didn't need no stinkin' degree after all.

Greg Flemming said theres been some chatter about morrison coming back but this probally means he isn't. Unless we can convince him to play FS?

I am surprised they let this become public with all the silence.

More experienced depth. Some Freeman has much more of than Kelly.

More specifically, I also don't think the CB board has much margin for error.
These two pages alone show how far we have come at this position. Mickens was brand new to ND and the CB room was in dire straits when we were recruiting him out of high school. Weren't really even in consideration, but mom loved us. Times have changed! DBU

We have some dudes coming in at safety and corner as well I believe all of them could play right away if needed makes me wonder do they let one of the guys play WR?

I don't think so. When you have DB's that can play on an island it allows you to keep more guys near the LOS and blitz more.

Apparently Smith is a heavy hitter. With him and Shuler back there, I'm looking forward to the violence.

Throw Urlacher in the mix and teams will think twice about going over the middle.

I Like where your head's at, but if you're looking for passes over the middle you're more likely to find them on YouTube or NFL Films. Most of what you see now is short, quick and to the outside.

This guy played a ton this past season. Smith logged a career-high 421 snaps this season. He had 57 snaps total the three seasons before.
