Think I like Diggs highlights more than Estime's although the stats are concerning. While he doesn't have elite high end speed, Diggs' lateral agility, ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and downhill running style would be a very nice fit in the offense.

Are Diggs' stats that bad? He's averaging just under 100 rushing yards per game and over 6 ypc. I get that its not dominant but I've also heard that he plays a good schedule and has a weak line.

He is 28th in Louisiana in rushing. He also has 2 fumbles. Stats clearly aren't everything, but his speed is average as well as his size. Everything about Diggs spells average. But I am not getting paid to recruit so that pretty much makes me a run of the mill complainer regarding Diggs offer.

SO all of this talk got me to re-review his(logan diggs) film from this year and last....from the film in his junior year, there are def holes for him to run through which he seemed to show a decent burst, good balance and vision, enough wiggle and is able to put his foot in the ground and get up field.....THIS year's highlights show an extreme amount of defenders behind the line of scrimmage or right at the line and he fights for everything he gets...has good speed not great but the kid doesn't want to go down.....he is def a c'bo flemister type back...not getting a break away TD for 40+ yards but he is a willing blocker and tough to bring down...doubt he will be a #1 back at ND but def a good complimentary guy...believe some are selling him short...he plays against some REAL DUDES down there....john curtis, st. augustine etc

Logan Diggs may seems average because he is average. He was the fallback of fallback options. After going all in on Will Shipley, the staff has been lucky to land him and hopefully another one of these solid backs we're after. Hopefully this is a learning experience for the staff to never again put all their eggs in one basket, but sort of seem like they are still doing that with QB recruiting.

The staff choese Logan Diggs. Shipley was obviously the primary option. They wanted a rb. But were not desperate at the time. I like Caldwell and Edwards better but I think Diggs could do well in this backfield.

But we were desperate at the time. Let's not be revisionists now about it. Diggs was plan C at best.

Lol, no. You say this like ND tried to go after 2nd tier guys after Shipley and struck out.

Diggs was one of the first guys offered post-Shipley. He's got quality film and is underrated.

This "plan c" bs is the revisionist history.

I wrote that his film was suspect before he committed ( go to the Logan Diggs recruiting thread, second page). I have followed him this season hoping I was missing something. So far it is just more of the same. All it means to me as a fan is I really hope that they can sign Edwards or if not one of the other two

I'm optimistic that Lance (and Balis) will polish up Diggs.

I remember thinking Cbo was a "filler" recruit too... Definitely think Diggs film was better than Cbos

Agree with this. C’Bo was much less impressive IMO. Additionally, Diggs offer list is pretty strong and includes a USC offer who I don’t think would chase a Louisiana RB unless they believed in him.

To the CBo comps....
I know stats aren't everything, but Diggs had 15 TDs in 4 years (7 SR year in 7 games).
CBo had 24 TDs his last year with a better AVG. CBo was a workhorse his final two seasons, and also played on D (FS I think) IIRC. I don't recall TBH, but I remember not disliking CBo's tape.

In regards to his Jr film, it was very good. I fail to see what's so "suspect" about it. Tough, physical runner, with decent size, 6'0 a shade under 200 without touching a weight room. He also has great lateral quickness and good instincts, and is a willing and vicious blocker. He's not the burner that Edwards is, but he's hardly slow.

Sorry, but I'm leaning towards you probably missing something. I'm not saying I'd take Diggs over Edwards or Shipley, but he definitely showed a lot of great things on his tape.

1) I was a huge C'Bo fan
2) This thread has become useless in relation to it's title

For whatever it’s worth, Diggs did attempt to commit to USC but they declined.

You need to back that statement up with an article link or something. Sounds like a Koon hot take.

There was definitely chatter about it. Not sure if mentioned here, but a buddy of mine in Indy even brought it up 2 weeks ago when we were talking about RBs in the class, and a USC friend of mine mentioned it when he committed to us. I don't have the pay subs anymore, but will try to find an article.

here's one. not specific, but close.

Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, USC, Purdue, Virginia, and Oklahoma State among others, offered Diggs a scholarship prior to his Notre Dame commitment. USC was briefly considered the leader for Diggs and there was some chatter that he wanted to commit to the Trojans at one point.

Thanks for the post. Had not seen that before. May have missed it if posted earlier

If you ever mention me and Koon in the same sentence again......

Seriously, I may not have a link but if, on the fairly rare occasion, I post something...it’s factual. I know I have to prove myself over time, but I’m not interested in f*cking around when it comes to Notre Dame football.

From diggs thread:

Early buzz from Loy is USC

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I’m about to make the biggest decision of my life..</p>— Logan Diggs (@logandiggs3) <a href="https://twitter.com/logandiggs3/status/1277319198545412096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 28, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Speculation was, he was set on USC but USC may not have been ready to accept his commitment. And then, there is this re-tweet...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Don’t complain, just make em regret passing on you..</p>— Logan (@logandiggs3) <a href="https://twitter.com/logandiggs3/status/1252294253021204487?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 20, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

doubtful he visits this weekend. Move on.

If he doesn't make it, how quickly do we think the dominoes fall and we get one of the other RBs on board? Would love to lock down another quality RB and not get left with an open spot.

My understanding is we were going to give him until early signing day to make a decision. If and when that day passes and he doesn't pledge his commitment, we move on to the MSU pledge. If anyone knows better, please speak up.
