Interesting. Still getting the MacGregor vibe.
Although I'm not feeling it, I don't think the local team syndrome is all of it. As someone already brought up, Dad's an Eastern PA kid, probably Catholic. Went to Pitt with whom he has had a publicly BAD relationship. Yes, he played professionally in Detroit but that's not the same as being from there. Mom might be a bigger factor here. Did they meet in college? Is she a Detroit native? Is she a Michigan alum? Haven't seen that addressed nor have I looked into it. I'm not sure why my spidey senses are tingling in regards to him? Is it the the fact he's got Top 10, Top 5, Top 3
Top 2.5, Top 2 lists coming? Is it because he seems to find himself in the recruiting stories more so than his teammate... and 99% of other OL's ND usually recruits? Is it because he's not 6-4 barefoot? Is it because Pat Coogan isn't offered and has a film that looks like something Q would give two thumbs up to? I don't know but I can't shake it.
Forget about who's leaning where, how big of a want is he to you guys? He seems a little under sized and we're in on some great and long OL prospects, most of which have at least 1 visit upcoming.
O-69. Bingo!
That said: The NFL is FULL of 6-3 IOL's. Spindler has a wrestling background and plus athleticism to the point many think he may be a better DT. If we are playing the stereotype game, looks most like an OC prospect. The picture of him between Baker and Fisher is telling.
I believe the staff has Tengwall and Spindler as guards and Fisher and Millium as tackles
Seems like those are the first choices but Dellinger is somewhere in the mix too. Not sure if he's odd man out right now or if they'd say ok if he told them he wants in. If his shoulders are ok, he's a serious contender. He's put on a LOT of mass since he came onto the scene.
Also of note: There's zero doubt in my mind Tengwall could slide out to RT. Looking at him in full video you can see he's actually built like an OT up through the torso. We are used to seeing pics of his arms/shoulders which are freakish for a high schooler but the rest of him is more athletic than you'd think and he gets positive reviews for his movement.
