While I do agree we could have had some open lines of communication going/back channel stuff ( and we might have), sometimes you have to show guys all the love. It didn't work this time. Would you rather be SkunkBear and offer EVERYONE. Cheapens every offer they send out.

I worked in scouting/recurting for a few different NAHL/USHL hockey teams. Sometimes you go above and beyond for guys, you think you have em, all the stars align and POOF they are gone. It sucks but it happens. MOVE ON lads...

Also, with regards to Shipley saying it's an easy decision, I mean, that's his team now, and he's building it the same way Blake is trying on our end. Even if it was the hardest decision of his life, it'd be weird for him to air that constantly.

I think ND had a select group of guys they wanted first, and Shipley was the guy who showed the most interest. I know Kiner was never going to happen. Edwards may have been a possibility if they pushed, but I think that was probably an even bigger stretch than Shipley.

For me, I just wish they kept on LJ Johnson. I get some of the other names waiting for Shipley to decide, but Johnson could've been courted a bit while we waited.
