This sucks. I think our RB room will be fine from a talent perspective, but Diggs was really stepping up as a leader last season. Loved seeing him pump the offense up when they needed it, helping Estime regain his confidence after the fumbles, and then encouraging him when he was doing well. Then Diggs took over in a few games when we needed a closer, like UNLV.

So yeah, from a RB perspective I think we'll be fine, but we'll need someone to step up to fill the leadership void.

Him shaping his body to go away from the pure power back to a more rounded all purpose back probably put the writing on the wall for Diggs tbh

Between that and more throwing with Sam, it sorta makes sense. Doubly so if Love is the pass catcher we think he is.

This hurts but doesn’t kill us Audric is better but Jadarian price was our best back in Spring last year before the injury and love is too good to keep off the field
LOL what does it mean "This hurts but doesn't kill us" mean. LOL. Um let me tell you - forget contending this year with loss of these depth weapons. Its totally fucking naive to think otherwise.

I wondered if a starter/ contributor would leave. Diggs woulda been in the top 3, but when i saw him do something cool like go to Ireland on that fb player trip i figured he may have matured past that risk.

I think most view Estime as the more talented back. Payne looked like a good #3. Can Price regain pre injury form at some point next year? They'll need hum and Love.

Diggs is dime a dozen. Payne looks good. Love has great talent. Not to mention Price but an Achilles is tough. That’s putting Estime aside.

Respectfully, who legit thinks that? None of us have a choice in this matter. The other part of your post is spot on.

I absolutely think it. Students should be able to change schools however they want to. An English major can change schools at any time when he or she wants, an athlete should be able to, too.

The problem is that ND does not play the game that is in front of them. It is a choice to be extra picky about undergrad transfers. That hinders them in roster replenishment.

Diggs leaving is surprising to me, but oh well. They're stocked at RB and that is a position that doesn't take much to replace.

Sunshine pumping is thick around here. Diggs is one of the best five best/most proven offensive players on the roster. It’s a loss, even if Payne flashed in the blue gold game and Love is higher rated out of high school.

I just want to know why and how we prevent it.

Agreed. We are losing major contributors to the Offense. Freeman had better figure this out or he will never get 10 wins here. What a joke.

One thing is for certain: athletes who transfer willingly to other programs need to stop with the twitter posts about how much they love the team and school they are leaving. At this point, barring a very serious situation forcing an athlete’s hand, it’s just a standard practice and lacking in heart.
Yea I think these posts will soon become like 3 or 4 sentences. Agreed with post.

Diggs is a proven RB1A with two years under his belt. Love is still in high school. You’re not choosing between them. It’s not even a choice.

Ehhh... I wish Logan the best. He seems like a good guy and student. He's good, but if he insists on being *the man* he's just not. Estime is and I'm not worried about one or two of the other backs replacing his production.

Further, I agree that I would rather take the chance on Love being the burner electric back than being assured of having another B+ guy with all the talent in the RB room. (If I had to make the choice)

We have Tyree too if the young guys can’t handle the pressure. I doubt that will happen though.

Exactly. Diggs was a big reason for our success last year when we had it. He was showing growth on and off the field, and I was expecting him to play a big role this year, even with the depth. That’s why, like you said, is this NIL?
I guess it’s possible he was having issues with academics…….we probably won’t see players suspended for academics anymore, they will just transfer before it becomes public.
