I agree with that comparison.

But, would you take Kyren of Josh Adams? Honestly, not sure which one I would want, probably depends on the construct of the playbook and rest of the offense. But Josh Adams had homerun speed and I loved every minute of it.

That’s a tough one but I’d go Kyren. Adams ran for no gain or a loss a fair bit which got us into trouble in big games like Georgia in 17. Kyren always seems to get at least 3 yards. I think we would have won that Georgia game in 17 will a RB like Kyren.

Kyren does more RB things than Adams did. Adams was great and would love him...but Tyree can replace what he did with a better top end gear. Adams played with the GOAT OL of the Kelly era. Kyren can is more efficient and has looser hips imo

Oh I'd take Kyren 11/10 over Josh. That's no disrespect to Josh. He was amazing, but he also had a legendary oline he played behind. Some of his "home runs" were from holes as wide as the Panama canal. No one would could catch you with a north/south head-start that far.

Kyren on the other hand is just so much more versatile (better receiver, blocker, and "making men miss, turning no gainers into medium gainers) and his overall "swagger" is another level above Josh.

Kyren is a next level blocker and is exactly what they need if they have a freshman LT and RT that may struggle with a good edge rusher.

The block at 1:20 on the video...

I think this has been debunked a bit. Kyren had an all time pass blocking performance against Clemson, but overall he struggled in the regard over the course of the season and did not grade all that well. He'll need to be much more consistent if the tackles struggle.

Agreed
Give me Kyren speed over GAIII speed.

Agree. IMO track speed rarely translates to speed on the football field. Seemed like the few times they ran the reverse for GAIII it took about 15 minutes for him to turn the corner.

This video debunks the debunk.

You could be right but 90% of blitz pickup from the backfield is will and physical ability to block men twice your size. He can and will do it so if coaches can get him assignment correct, it's going to help out a relatively inexperienced offensive line.

I might get crushed for this but GA3 and Josh Adams were my least favorite running backs of the Kelly era

Can understand GA3.

I haven't disliked the RB's per se, but I think the most frustrating RB for me was Armando Allen. That first year with BK, it seemed like every play that could break a 15 yard+ run for AA would end up him seemingly getting tripped up from behind at the last moment for a 6 yard gain. I just felt like he left so many yards on the field.

Guys like TJJ or Cam got what we would could probably expect from them given the circumstances. I just felt like AA was a consistent shoe string tackle away from a huge play, but he never had one.

I know that Kyren and Tyree are more than capable of killing it this year but I'm really excited to see what Diggs can do. His camp highlights have been great.

From that angle, he has a strange running gait. His feet stay really close to the ground and he sort of glides.

Great run. Made DJ Brown look bad. Brown shows up on other players highlights way too often.

Idk, it could just be the low frame rate. Video is a little choppy but it does look like that when he kicks into 3rd gear

There's something in his running-style that reminds me of Cierre Wood. I haven't seen him do a heavy cut like Cierre did but his feet shuffle quickly like C did.

FWIW, that run is the actually from a week or two back. It was put in one of ND's cut-ups they had from practice. They must've just given the full version of the highlight to Diggs so he just now posted it. Not that it matters, it's nice to see the full version. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

That run was at one of the practices I was attending. It was one of the plays where the offense beat the defense right away. The OL opened up a hole and Diggs only had to make one guy miss.

That was also the play that I realized he wasn’t as fast as I thought.

Pretty encouraging debut. 44 yards on 7 touches. I'm really excited about the potential of the '21 offensive class.
