For those of us keeping score at home, can you tell me which games you used to compile these stats?

I don't want to bring up the fact that he was at Duke, with limited playmakers, etc. etc. I just want to be sure we're talking about the same thing.
Not to mention playing on one foot, thus limiting his mobility.

I’m not expecting Leonard to be the 2nd coming of Tebow but if he can get some decent protection from an unproven OL, he can hopefully navigate the offense & allow their playmakers (which are far more in # than last season) to make plays.

I hope he joins the offense when they huddle up on the sidelines instead of standing away looking like a malcontent.

50% of those games were played on an injured leg and thus half of his game was removed from the arsenal. We know he's not a pure drop back passer and that he didn't have a strong supporting cast. What are you hoping to accomplish with this cherry-picking? Mentally preparing for a let down?

I’ll be really shocked if Leonard doesn’t play well on Saturday, I really expect him to look good out there. I’m especially interested to see if he’ll be getting the ball out quickly, especially at the beginning, to allow the OL to settle in a bit.

McDougal

100% the same.
Actually it’s not really at all, I was being sarcastic and making an ironic point about your username and opinion clashing about a supposed “unproven” QB. McDougal never sniffed the field meaningfully and then only did in 93 because Powlus got injured in camp. Leonard is a 1.5 year starter who when healthy has proven he is more than capable of leading a team with the surrounding talent ND has to big things.

He was electric at times but even in his full 2022 season he was extremely inconsistent.

If we’re going to win 12-14 games this season, we need a more consistent Leonard than he’s ever been.

Consistent in the close games. I could see our running game overwhelming lesser teams.

We are banking on a guy who put up these numbers against good defenses last year:

45/99 45% 499 yards 1 TD 3 INT...37 car. 212 yards 5.7 ypc 1 TD

...and who hasn't been healthy and on the field in 12 months. If he under performs are sunk and Angeli is playing by halftime. I hope to God he has improved, is healthy and reliable and has made GREAT strides in his game.
Did you see him the year before that when he was healthy? Better numbers than Milroe, & Milroe is a preseason Heisman favorite.
And I like how you glossed over the actual performances. Beat ranked Clemson, had ranked ND beat before 4th & 16, & was beating undefeated FSU on one leg before finally forced out.
And you do realize the surgery he had in spring actually makes the ankle stronger than it even was before.
But go ahead a keep peeing your pants.

Denbrock, on two separate occasions, turned down lower level HC jobs.
Golden did too.
Golden was the HC of one of the biggest 20 programs in the country, i recognize you know this. But we have HC caliber coordinators, as you are alluding too.

No doubt Denbrock and Golden would be highly sought after HC’s for many 30-80 range teams. No doubt.

Good programs can get those guys as OC and DC. Ohio State as an example.
