Apparently he wants warm weather. If true, probably Miami or an SEC school.FWIW, Driskell said it's a long shot at this point.
One podcast said this is one we will have to b work on. But we got a better chance nowApparently he wants warm weather. If true, probably Miami or an SEC school.

Legacy TE/DE Henry Fitzpatrick visited for Stanford. He camped at Irish Invasion, could be a PWO candidate.
No, they still exist. A roster spot and a scholarship are different things. No such thing as a PWO anymore under the 105 roster limit.
Either the player is offered a roster spot, or not. There may or may not be room for a walk-on from Campus depending how the roster is shaping up each Summer. But the way this team is recruiting, don't bank on anything.

Wow. You really can't comprehend the fact that roster size is irrelevant to this discussion.Designated Student Athletes (DSAs) exist - but they are grandfathered in PWOs and walk-ons from when the NCAA went to 105. But they will be out of eligibility in 2 years. There are no new ones. The roster is 105, and that's it.

The non prick Sporting answer: PWOs wouldn’t necessarily get scholarships. Count same to roster limit.
Are you illiterate in addition to being an asshole? That's literally the first thing I said.
Yeah, unlike you, I can read. I don't get why you got your panties twisted in the first place. My initial comment was perfectly polite and informative, but you read it like an asshole.Nobody said you were wrong, I said you were a prick.
Dude. You argue like you know what you are talking about. You don't. Stop while you are ahead.Wow. You really can't comprehend the fact that roster size is irrelevant to this discussion.
Stop. Just stop. What is a preferred walk on (PWO)?
A preferred walk-on (PWO) offer promises you a roster spot, but you won’t receive any athletic aid. A preferred walk-on is the highest status a recruit can get outside of receiving an athletic scholarship. Preferred walk-ons will go into college with a roster spot secured, receive a uniform and have a strong chance of competing for playing time their first year.
Some student-athletes will turn down scholarship offers at smaller schools to play for a bigger program as a preferred walk-on. But keep in mind, even preferred walk-ons can get cut during try-outs or team camp if they aren’t meeting coach expectations.
- Guaranteed spot on the team.
- No athletic scholarship.
- May still get cut if performance doesn’t meet expectations.
Can preferred walk-ons earn a scholarship?
Yes, scholarships can be earned going into a second season, but nothing is guaranteed. They are, however, typically first in line when scholarship dollars free up.
Do preferred walk-ons sign on signing day?
Technically, preferred walk-ons don’t have anything to sign on Signing Day, as they aren’t receiving an athletic scholarship. However, walk-ons are an essential part of a successful team, and college coaches want to celebrate their signing, as well. Ask your future coach about having something to sign, especially if your school is throwing a Signing Day party. Don’t forget to rep your new school with some gear!

He has cookies tho!Dude. You argue like you know what you are talking about. You don't. Stop while you are ahead.
And then he cites an article to justify his position...the article was written YEARS AGO. The article also includes definitions of Redshirts, Greyshirts etc.He has cookies tho!

This is what Sportsing originally said...Stop. Just stop.
105 is the roster limit. Walk ons or Full Scholarships. Full stop.
The only exception are DSAs which are grandfathered in from when the 105 roster limit was introduced ~18 months ago. Once all the DSAs matriculate, that's it.
But by all means, keep arguing like an ass.
Right, the roster of 105 may contain scholarship, partial scholarships, or non-scholarship athletes (walk-ons).No, they still exist. A roster spot and a scholarship are different things.
You are correct that DSAs do not count against roster limits. Sportsing isn't talking about exceeding roster limits, though. He is talking about whether the player is on scholarship or not.Designated Student Athletes (DSAs) exist - but they are grandfathered in PWOs and walk-ons from when the NCAA went to 105. Correct!Holy crap. A PWO is offered a roster spot, but not a scholarship BEFORE they arrive on Campus. Freeman (and Kelly) used to offer several PWOs every year.
Name one! Name one PWO offer from Freeman since July 24, 2024 (when the 105 was announced). Just one.
And for extra marks, when only 5 players on this entire roster is out of eligibility this year (Washington, Onye, Craig, Sneed and McKinney - and even Craig can appeal), and 23 recruits incoming (likely more), explain to me why (or how) Freeman would offer one of the 105 guaranteed roster spots to a kid not worth a scholarship in the era of NIL.

I can't tell if you're still talking to me or perhaps some poster I've unfollowed, but our discussion (your beligerent nonsense, my correction) never had anything to do with ND.Holy crap.
