I think staff puts the pressure and full court press on Segun and if he commits cools off on Fakatou. Segun is a guy who you can sell on redshirting and Notre Dame shouldnt need him next here regardless.
Segun (June 19) will visit after Fakatou (June 15). Works out well because if they get bad vibes about the later, they can full out press for Segun

It doesn't have to be "who'd you rather have" at this point. I want the staff to go out and finish the best defensive line haul we've ever seen. That is the case whether they get Fakatou or Alexander. One might feel like a bigger exclamation but if I'm being honest, Alexander looks like a guy who knows he's an inside player.

Despite what others think, you can sign too many players at a position, leading to transfers, etc. I'd be thrilled to get either and trust the staff. These are classes we only dreamed up 3 years ago.
I 100% didn't want to say your first paragraph out loud. I would never turn down Fakatou. But in terms of roster management, Segun may be a better fit for roster balance. 3 interior, 3 edge.

I dont disagree with you, I was simply making a hypothetical for discussion purposes. I would be happy with either, but I just believe it is very unlikely ND lands both Alexander and Fakatou. I also agree that Alexander knows he is an inside guy while I feel like Fakatou is an inside guy who wants to be an outside guy simply because it is the more "highlight reel" position. On the flip side, I do think Fakatou is a top 5 overall type draft pick if he reaches his ceiling.

Maybe just Vaughn
It probably is (I was hoping it meant they'd closed on Parks), but please understand that I'm not dragging you here when I laugh at "just" Vaughn. It shows you how very far this roster and recruiting have come when "just" a borderline 5* DE (he absolutely would've been a 5* in the 2028 class) is committing. During the Willingham, Weis and Kelly years, a 5* DE would've been grounds to break out a cigar and a scotch old enough to vote.

Good times ahead, folks.

Yeah a DE room of Dunham / Ebenezer / Sesay / Vaughn / O’Neil is just absolutely absurd vs what we’ve been used to.

I think all of these guys have first round upside if they hit, even O’Neil who is forgotten about but has the frame and motor to be a menace at 6”5” 270+. He’s a guy who would be a crown jewel of a typical BK class.
