If that is the case, why don't we stick with our WR corps as-is? Let's use the $ for other needs.
This is close to the point I'm at. There are some legitimate difference makers still out there but some of the guys being talked about do not move the needle. You have two quality/proven guys with Greathouse + Faison so if you're not going to find an NFL talent out there you would hope that one of the 10x underclassmen on the team is able to be a quality player. If not, fire everyone involved with WR recruiting because the miss rate would be absurd.

He has just as much if not more NFL hype than Fields and has done it against far better competition. You really thinking he is significantly worse? Don’t mock the bed wetting if you’re gonna be that dramatic
Friendly wager on who ends up getting drafted higher?

1) Strong is not the player Marsh is. Not even close. Strong cannot seperate what so ever

2) all of you acting like this is not a big deal need to take a lap. Marsh is exactly what CJ needed. Absolute difference maker.

3) All in football program? My ass.
You act as if players/human beings don’t have their own wants, needs, intentions. If a kid wants to be in a certain place, andddd make a lot of money doing it, then that’s what he should do.

Don’t be a whiny little bitch and assume ND isn’t doing all they can. Grow up

Strong has put up basically the same stat line as Marsh each of the last two years while competing for targets with Duff, with a worse QB, against the same schedule and some of the people that just remember he was a top recruit are acting like it’s Randy Moss versus Ben Skowronek

I prefer Marsh as well, but I think they are basically bunched in the same tier with a handful of others. Just go get Canion

Look at that separation! He’s not “cooking” anyone. He’s the 2nd best wr on Rutgers, I mean come on. Those aren’t the throws you want to be making on the regular.

ND needs better play at that position than strong. He would be a step down from fields. I think he’s less athletic than beaux even. He has good hands, catch radius, and is taller.

No? They think it’s gonna be a battle with Tennessee and ND?

You later on said they liked their chances for some of the guys. I wasn’t sure if that included Gilliam. I was just confused. Thanks for the clarification.

And Carnell Tate was not as good as J Smith. They’re both good receivers. You’re a fucking troll and don’t appreciate what we have on this team or this staff. Just fuck off. Seriously.

Strong has already visited cal so I'm assuming we lock him up tomorrow. The wake dt seems like he's looking for a bag so maybe not the most optimistic for him but I think ND will fill their needs in the portal. People losing their minds over this just makes me laugh. So many guys are deemed to be portal all stars and don't do shit at their new school. Hopefully nd hits on them but it's a crapshoot
It’s the complete opposite of a crapshoot. The issue is people expecting players to become something they’ve never shown in college. That’s the issue with strong, no one knew who he was until last week because he was 2nd best wr on Rutgers, and nothing special.

We got exactly who they were with Hartman, Collins, Lenard, all 3 nickels, fields, Dawson, Stroman, etc. Nobody became some amazing player they weren’t at their prior school.

Marsh was a player on a terrible team that opposing defenses focused on. That’s not strong.

I mean... that guy is nowhere close to Marsh. Sorry. Can't separate, big body guy with good hands is fine but it's not what's needed. Looks like a significantly worse version of Fields.
I mean, is it actually not what's needed. Hasn't it been said before that Denbrock's offense doesn't really use the boundary receiver as much? IIRC, one of the pods was talking about the good boundary guys he had at LSU that didn't really produce much.

Maybe a guy that's good at contested catches is what we need. Not someone that will be a focal point of the offense, but someone Carr can throw the ball up to if his early reads aren't open and can have confidence in coming down with it.

I’ve been positive minus gray lately. We were by all accunts the one to beat for marsh and ibirogba. We lost marsh, and it doesn’t sound as positive now for ibirogba.

If we lose out on both most likely this portal will be a failure. Declining the bowl was to focus on 26, we can’t fail now.

Despite what people think, freeman’s recruiting until the 26 class has been overrated. You can’t have the holes we’ve had recruiting at WR and DL requiring such huge portal additions. We’ve recruited at high levels elsewhere so there’s a chance but it requires getting top targets out of the portal.
You’re a fucking moron and every time you post it just further proves that point to be true

Yeah. IMO, Fields is like a 2nd-3rd round pick. Strong looks like a late rounder, UDFA type. Just my amateur opinion watching Strong's highlights.

I don’t think we watched the same Fields if he’s going second round this spring. He basically had two routes in his route tree and couldn’t catch slant worth anything. A contested catch specialist who can’t separate literally was Fields.

If Strong goes to ND, deal. They’ll be drafted +/- one round of each other.

Look at teams like fsu that only play in the portal it's definitely a crapshoot

Great comparison!!! Compare an all generation player and a first rounder to two Rutgers wrs!!! One of the Rutgers WRs is pretty darn good, and it’s not strong.

Tell everyone you don’t know jack about football without saying it.

Maybe my third point was dramatic, but the first 2 things I said are 100% true.

Whiny little bitch? You act like I post regularly and constantly complain. For weeks we were told the football program was going to be all in after the playoff debacle. In my opinion, if that was true, they’d get who they want and simply make it happen. Dude didn’t even make it to South Bend.

Chop it up how you want, but Marsh to IU is a semi big deal. Hell national reporters are even chiming in on it.

But calling me a bitch? Alright bro.

Malachi Fields had 2 big games all year. Pitt and A&M. Both were because he made multiple contested catches. What game was he separating and showing off all this talent that Strong does not have?

Wow, this is a bizarre take.

For one, yes, Strong is very much in the same realm as Marsh. Not sure what film you're watching. Second, a big body guy who can make contested catches is EXACTLY what is needed. They need a boundary guy who can win 1v1 balls.
