The vast majority of us thought ND was going to ship up to Boston and roll the overmatched Eagles, but unfortunately that didn't quite happen. As a result, only six posters got last week's margin of victory correct with ND 11-19.

Really only a couple to note: @PatrickBateman picked up his third point to bring himself into a crowded tie for second, and, although not pictured below due to ABC order, @MrNimbus got his second correct prediction in a row, for a total of two points, trailing our co-leaders by 2.

Good luck this week!

Normally I'd be a little weary of playing a one-loss Navy team, but the sleepy effort against BC last week has me expecting a blood bath. ND will be sharp offensively against an overmatched Navy secondary; if Navy tries to mimic the Eagles' loading the box tactics, Carr will be ready. He goes for 300+ and 3TDs, and Navy heads to the locker room at halftime knowing things are already over.

ND 56 - Navy 13

I hate the ball control ability of Navy. We need to get some TFLs in first downs and force some early turnovers to increase our possessions.

It's only something to worry about if you aren't scoring yourself. Otherwise Navy is shooting themselves in the foot. You can't play keep away when you're down 3 scores.

Navy has one of the worst pass defenses in the entire country, and that's not even factoring in what would happen to them if they DON'T stack the box.

ND wins in a landslide.

Offensive efficiency is the name of the game as possessions will be limited. We'll score 6 touchdowns but miss at least 2 PATs.

ND - 40
Middies - 21

Not laughing at your pick, just the PAT part. Sad state...
I kicked extra points in HS and I think I missed one in four years... and in no way is that a brag. I wasn't even good enough to have ever attempted an actual FG.

That's just how easy PATs are. Sad state, indeed.....

the boys pull away late but the game is tied at seven at the half,… ND drive up and down the field but are held to field goal attempts on all but one drive

How important is the hold, in your opinion?

I'd love to see the annual narrative about Navy's blocking scheme go away. They followed the rules back when dangerous blocks were legal, they've been following the rules since dangerous blocks were made illegal, and the worst ND injuries dealt by a service academy were by Air Force more than 30 years ago.

What specific incidents are people complaining about?

Don't they have some impressive stat re: Yards/1st down?

If ND can limit that, this should be domination.

I'm glad you brought this up so I didn't have to. Two broken legs in one game 30 years ago and its still a narrative that we get hurt more vs the service academies than vs other teams. Its nonsense.
I watched the entire Navy/ N Texas St game. No cut blocks. WRs cannot cut clock any more and there's not much value in cut blocks inside the tackle box. And no reason at all to cut block when passing. Navy now passes on 25% of their plays BTW.
If we can take away the dive they will pass a lot more than that.
