Underwood solid game one and bad game two is so typical of a rookie QB. Some reason to “hold breath” going into AM game maybe.

Don't mean to state the obvious but I would also say that Game 1 being against New Mexico at home and this game being against Oklahoma on the road would have a lot to do with the reduction to the mean lol

I think the team on the other side of the ball matters. About as tough as it comes for Carr last week. Not so much for Underwood last week.

Guys like Mateer are why I’m glad the transfer portal exists. I didn’t see much of him when he was at Wazzu, but he transfers to a school that is on national tv a lot, and I get to find out how good/fun of a player he is.

Watching this game makes me think Underwood is only playing because they either don't have anything else at QB, they know they aren't doing anything this season so let him learn and hope he grows, or both of these. Because nothing that kid did looked like it was next coming type of stuff.

The four game box on YouTubeTV allowed me to watch Michigan lose and StarkVegas win at the same time. Gotta love technology. I’ll always root for State bc of Mike Leach.

Michigan with 288 yards total, 75 of which came on an absolutely abysmal JV level mistake by future All-World safety Peyton Bowen.

Oklahoma gave them SOOOOO MANY opportunities to come back and they still lost by 11 points.

Go for the TD when you're on the inch line, coward.

I’m not dancing on the Underwood grave yet.

- Michigan won’t face a defend like OU until the last game of the season.

- It was his first real start on the road against one of the best defensive minds of this era.

- He was without one of their top 2 targets

Has clear arm talent was just inaccurate most of the night.

@ Nebraska in two weeks will be a hard but more telling test IMO

Agree. Venabels with an offsesson to prepare in your first competitive game is a nightmare scenario for any QB. On the bright side, even when he wasn't under pressure he was consistently overthrowing his man. Possible he was in his own head because of the pressure but generally arm talent shows once a QB makes the decision.

How on earth can they beat Nebraska when their totally innocent head coach is suspended?

Counterpoint on Underwood: if CJ had this game against Miami last week, people would be hammering the boards for Minchey.

With his athleticism he should have been taking off for yards. Haynes had 140 yards in the ground which should create passing opportunities for most decent QBs. Remember Dante Moore was horrible his first season and now we’re going to have to watch him post silly numbers for Oregon. Let’s hope after next week we wouldn’t want to trade Carr for anyone.

Michigan had 146 yards rushing total, more than half of which came on a busted play that had no business working. Bowen was tasked with maintaining the edge and he was stupidly way too far out of position.

For anyone watching Wazzu-SDSU…what former ND player is in the booth? Trying to figure it out. It’s on the CW.
