I don't blame any of the guys leaving, they probably knew they weren't going to start. Craig, Schrauth, and Jagusah are better interior lineman than the guys that are leaving. Not sure where Knapp fits in with his injury

Craig is likely the odd man out with his ACL. Knapp was just a high ankle sprain I believe, so he'll be ready for spring ball.

Yeah agreed, this is what happens. Those 2 guys can start somewhere else in all liklihood.

Sure. But our depth was all world 20 mins ago. Now it's fine..ish
Exactly. We had good depth at dline last year , until we didn't. You never want to lose kids that have starting experience. Hopefully the coaches can fill the coffers.

Rocco and Pat were warriors this season, but neither was going to start next year. If they want to make it to the league, this is the smart move for them. Anyone expecting them to stay to be backups was kidding himself.

I expected Pendleton and one of Coogan/Spindler gone via portal or NFL so not shocked, thought maybe Coogan would stay and Spindler leave so one more loss than would have liked assuming that’s it

I'm not so sure Rocco wasn't going to start. He started throughout on a bum ankle so clearly he was the guy. Understood Charles may move inside, but I'm not writing Rocco off as a no biggie. He'd definitely compete for a starting spot again.

I think all three were expected to transfer. Could Spindler have started next year? Maybe. But he wasn't going to be guaranteed a starter spot, that's for sure. Someone else will give him that.

If you’re not confident enough in your abilities and work ethic and feel you need a guarantee at a lesser program, is it really a loss? I’m happy for these guys, but there’s a reason Love and Greathouse are staying. They’re confident.

None of them were guaranteed a starting spot. In fact, all 3 were probably depth pieces next year.

We’re not losing “depth” guys, we’re losing guys who started many games this year for the #2 team in the country - guys who are good enough to go start for other good teams - who know they were about to be overtaken by more talented younger players.
That is quite a blessed state of affairs.

Although not probable, one of them could always withdraw from the portal at any point.

People keep asking this. Who “exciting” is left out there to add?
Classes have begun, most good transfers have found a spot, and only Ohio State players and GTs can still enter the portal at this point.
Hmm. So there it is. We have our 2026 national championship roster?
