Mosley is an odd case. I get that he put together a solid freshman year, but what does that say to guys like Cam, Gilbert and Saldate? He was good but the dude wasn't THAT good. It's not like a Malachi Fields situation, where he is a one and done, super impact guy. Mosley has work yet to do, and while I think he can be a good one, so can Cam, Gilbert and Saldate.

Of course, there's the alternative, that I hope isn't the case, that they think one might bail. I really pray that isn't it.
If one of the 3 bailed I’d go with Gilbert but I really hope he sticks think he can be good

If none of those three could force their way into getting catches with this WR group then they really aren't likely to be very good.

This is how I would rank my portal QBs as of now:

Cade Klubnik
Jalen Milroe
Quinn Ewers

Then a big drop for me.....to someone on the roster not named RL

I wouldn't take Ewers. Maybe I'm crazy but I just don't see it... doesn't make plays with his legs, good-not-great as a pure passer.

I'm a Milroe hater but I at least see the upside and what Denbrock has done with dual threat guys.

This is why I don’t see them bringing in a guy unless he is dual threat. Another reason why Angeli isn’t the answer either. You need a guy who can keep teams honest with their running ability

No way in hell Klubnik comes here I think if we land anyone it will be Ewers or Milroe. Clemson has two studs every year Freshmab WR’s better than any WR we have
Probably not, but I feel like if there was a guy to tamper with and drop an insane bag on it's him. I think if you added him + 2 good WRs to go with this OL and running game we would flat out destroy teams.

I think Ewers is a special talent but I don't think he culturally fits, doesn't seem like a Notre Dame man

I agree 100% Klubnik would do well here and guys like Faison and Greathouse I could see both have big years next year with him. Fields coming is a huge plus.

While I don’t care to dip into the portal at QB again, if we can get Milroe you do it and don’t look back or ask questions. Can you imagine him and Love running Denbrock’s system?
+ the impact this could have on getting other portal pieces on board (eg WR). I know it sounds like we’re already set behind the scenes, but the moment a Milroe/Love offense becomes on the books, hard not to also want to play for that offense

I’m wondering if Klubik reaches out to Hartman and Leonard about ND. We could offer him 4 million and then he’s gonna make another 6-10 million in endorsement deals coming here. He ain’t making that staying at Clemson.

Dude. Mosley had more receptions, yards, and touchdowns than anybody on the Irish. It’s very possible that he is THAT good.

It’s possible that if they let the qbs throw recklessly into a 1:1 Td/int ratio like Stanford the numbers would be higher for the wide receivers on the roster too.

I didn’t see Mosley as more than an average WR but he did separate himself eligibility-wise from Saldate, Cam, Gilbert with the redshirts. Tough to risk any of them for him though.

Would rather have Mosley on the roster than not. Putting up solid numbers as a true frosh with a bad QB on a bad team is extremely impressive.

It's 2025, CJ Carr is warming up to start against Miami and you all will still be wondering who the transfer qb will be.

Freeman has said multiple times they aren't looking for a QB. He has said so unsolicited. No actual beat reporter has said otherwise. In fact most think it's unlikely.

But a guy on the boards said a QB is coming and you all have convinced yourselves that it's Ewers, Milroy, or Klubnik.

What are we doing here? Can we start a QB rumor thread and leave this for actual transfer news?

The first person to report at least looking at a big QB transfer was Loy months ago. Doubled down weeks ago.

This is where I'm at. If we can somehow steal Klubnik, I'd support it. Not sure I see anyone else out there I'd really rather go with over the guys we have in-house. Ewers/Milroe maybe.
I believe, with the wr corps we have, milrore is the best fit.

Mosley caught 26 balls for 342 yds and 5 touchdowns….in the last 3 games! He also overtook Ayomanor as the go to receiver at the end of the season. What WR on the Irish, this year, is definitively better than Moseley?

Tom loy, a recruiting insider who stopped covering the ND beat over a year ago

If there is news about a high school QB than that is a reliable source. He does not cover the team.

Maybe ND is going after a QB. It's possible, but no reliable source has said so. Including the coaches.

Here? Where is here? Because there is not a college QB on any roster earning 6-10M in endorsements per year.

Loy is national because he has connections all over. He still knows ND well. As well as the agents they talk to,

Not to say I fully believe ND will go after a QB via the portal, and MF is an upstanding dude.

But he's also a football coach and coachspeak is still very much a thing with him. Just because he insinuates that they're content with the guys on roster doesn't mean they're not exploring options.

This is the age we live in. if Freeman and Denbrock aren't fully confident in Angeli or think Minchey or Carr aren't ready yet, then you would be foolish to not explore those options.

Well, we will know if Klubnik/Milroe are in the portal within the week. Ewers will be 1/6 at the earliest.

It would be coaching malpractice not to explore all available options to improve your team, at every position, every year.
