I don't think Angeli is winning a real QB competition at all. The Denbrock playbook would be too limited with him. I do want to see a real competition, but winning over everything.
Yeah there are very few dudes I’m “sold” on but I was beyond impressed with how he played against Texas. If we pulled Klubnik I would lose my mind. I think he's a stud and would murder teams under Denbrock.
I like Riley and all, but are we here because of him? If Angeli was our guy this year, I'm not sure how the season goes. But ND shitkicked almost everybody. If Carr were healthy I'd agree with North Dakota. We really need to get off the transfer treadmill with QBs. If he's not, I do not want to go into a season where our best options are Angeli or Minchey. No offense to either but this is big boy football and the expectation should be to compete for a championship every year.
Doesn’t seem to Hurt Ohio State or OregonI believe ND would be hurting themselves if they kept going to the portal for a QB unless it's for an experienced back-up this year-even if Carr is hurt. The message to recruits would not be palatable.
Why not Minchey? Herbert? Angeli?
If angeli was QB this season I think there would have been north of 50 sacks. Leonard escaped a lot.I don't think Angeli is winning a real QB competition at all. The Denbrock playbook would be too limited with him. I do want to see a real competition, but winning over everything.

I want ND to compete annually or at least routinely, but a lot of it comes down to trusting your guys. What's the point in recruiting good QB's if we keep bringing in transfers? At some point you gotta let your guys cook and if they fail, then bring in a guy. I have zero issue with bringing a guy in if our guys can't do it.
I think we will have an easier time bringing in good dudes if they believe they will be given an opportunity to play.
EDIT: I think we are largely on the same page. No intent to criticize your post at all. Want that clear.
Or Texas.Doesn’t seem to Hurt Ohio State or Oregon
I'm upset Collins is still playing in front of thomas.I think there’s some romanticism around recruiting QBs and allowing the guys who have “paid their dues” to be next man up…
…but nobody was upset when Beaux Collins or Kris Mitchell supplanted Jayden Thomas. Is anyone upset Mitch Jeter took a spot from Zack Yoakum?
Nope.
Y’all only hold that energy for QB when you want to use the portal to get better at every other position. Why should QB be any different?
Put the best squad you can on the field every year. If everyone else is playing the game, we should be, too.

Or LSU and OklahomaOr Texas.
But here we are with ND still playing and Clemson sitting at home. Maybe Klubnik realizes he’s gone as far as he can there and sees ND as a step up.No way in hell Klubnik comes here I think if we land anyone it will be Ewers or Milroe. Clemson has two studs every year Freshmab WR’s better than any WR we have
This is where I'm at. If we can somehow steal Klubnik, I'd support it. Not sure I see anyone else out there I'd really rather go with over the guys we have in-house. Ewers/Milroe maybe.Klubnik or bust for me. I just don't really trust Milroe enough to not blow a couple games a year.
If they are on the roster, they obviously have an opportunity to compete for the job lol. Field the best team possible every year!Just QB. And just this year. We got guys on the roster and they deserve an opportunity to compete for the job at least one time.
How much confidence is there in Mosley?I’m gonna reserve judgement on taking a QB in the portal until I see who we can bring in. If we can land
-2-3 WR’s Fields, Mosley, plus a depth guy
-2-3 DT 2 difference makers potential starters and 1 depth guy
If we can land the above I’m fine rolling with Angeli, Minchey, Carr Georgia won 2 titles with a walkon but they had studs around him.
Someone on here a while back said he’s got a good source who said he’s likely coming and his brother in a 2026 kid who has on high in his listHow much confidence is there in Mosley?

Can't lie, dude balled out against Texas.Yeah there are very few dudes I’m “sold” on but I was beyond impressed with how he played against Texas.
Another one that I'd like, though he'd be more like Leonard. A guy with great potential, but hasn't shown the consistency. Maybe Denbrock can get it out of him. I'm honestly leaning towards Klubnik surprisingly. While I don’t care to dip into the portal at QB again, if we can get Milroe you do it and don’t look back or ask questions. Can you imagine him and Love running Denbrock’s system?
Mosley is an odd case. I get that he put together a solid freshman year, but what does that say to guys like Cam, Gilbert and Saldate? He was good but the dude wasn't THAT good. It's not like a Malachi Fields situation, where he is a one and done, super impact guy. Mosley has work yet to do, and while I think he can be a good one, so can Cam, Gilbert and Saldate.Someone on here a while back said he’s got a good source who said he’s likely coming and his brother in a 2026 kid who has on high in his list
