There’s not a DT out there worth $2M
Maybe not no idea what options will be out there, but id argue if Ole Miss gave that to Nolen last year they got their moneys worth. The same could be said for Fiske the year prior.

Not my money but the point is, with the way our roster is setup, a high level DT will be a better value add than a QB next year.

We don’t need a transfer QB. Save the money go out and get the WR from Stanford go get two DT’s, maybe another WR and S/C

We don't know what kind of record Steve would've produced.
Riley has made A LOT of plays with his legs, but maybe Steve with a little more experience makes those plays with his mind?
If it’s Angelli next season, the OL is going to have to take a significant jump. Riley Leonard’s escapability and mobility hide a lot of shortcomings up front. We’d have a couple more losses this season with Steve back there getting swallowed by pressure.

Without knowing who's in the portal I would avoid the one year rental unless he's a game changer like the Miami or Oregon dudes
Yep. Don't spend on another Sam Hartman or Riley Leonard type. The Cam Ward's of the world are the ones you break the bank for. I'd rather roll with whoever emerges between Carr/Angeli/Minchey and spend the money on positions of need (WR, 2 DT, S). The biggest issue I have with the transfers is them only bringing in guys with 1 year of eligibility left. They need to start bringing in players they recruited who went elsewhere and have multiple years left.

Loy just said we could go 0-3 with the last recruits we’re chasing in Faraimo, Wiggins, and Parham. He thinks 1-3 with Faraimo being the one.

This is where we're handcuffed by the old-fashioned notion that our football players should be on track to graduate from the university.

It'd be nice to be able to go get some talented sophomore with three years on the clock still, but in so many cases they won't have coursework to graduate on time. So they can't get past admissions and we're left with the guys who are old enough to be in the draft, but aren't. So by definition they're gonna be one-and-done, and probably not elite to begin with.

In that case, looking at our QB room, yeah I'd rather grow our own at this point.

Has there been any talk about Dallas Golden potentially playing wide receiver? considering how Moore and to a lesser extent Hobbs have looked, along with Zackery and Cree (who I think is a bit underrated) coming in, the need seems greater on that side of the ball.

Maybe those conversations have happened behind the scenes, but anything that has been reported on has stated that Golden wants to play nickel and expects to come in to play defense.

Agreed. Anyone who can possibly play good WR should be given a try out there early on.

Just some FYI on an email I received for the Committee meeting coming up after Thanksgiving for the 2025 HS/FBS/FCS rules for TN football.......... how they are related or affect other HS or NCAAF is unknown or if they are having the same come the March rules meeting - I will keep all updated.

Phillip,

December 9th’s Monday meeting will include rule changes for 2025. We need you to attend the FBS/FCS rule change for game-start/Half-time start and after-score ‘Kick-Offs’. Also included will be a list of additional rules that have been altered/changed in the past few seasons.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Jonathon Coz

Sounds like they want to implement the new NFL 'Kickoff Rule' just started this year.

Posted in Parham's thread but will add it here as well.....

From Singer

ND moving off of him. In Singer's words: "There was a reason why this wasn’t a lock despite him being a Tulane commit. Things didn’t check out behind the scenes basically."

I hoping for a little more creativity from EvilleIrish & Arrowryan this time.

Sounds like he’s not even an option for NC State

Yeah but… ND (I.e. Freeman) can’t recruit. Any other statement goes against the bed wetters narative. Enough already. If they can’t get in, fuck ‘em and if they don’t want in, fuck ‘em. This team is awesome, the staff is awesome and the bitching is nothing more than noise. Go Irish.

The level of insufferablity around here lately is unreal.
True, and it's really limited to a handful of guys who just consistently post time after time again crying on about situations that really are not as dire as they're making them out to be. Recruiting being one of those.

Even in the midst of a dominant winning streak, there are posters here that bring up the one loss of the season on regular basis each week. It's kind of sad, and I certainly hope these guys don't approach their lives this way when it comes to more serious matters.

Notre Dame Football is the most important thing among the least important things in life. Keep it that way.

I only see one dude pop up more regularly when there is some bad news with recruiting. It's either a Top 10 class or it's shit.

Depends what they can land in the portal. I think you gotta bring back one of Colzie/Thomas for depth. Go grab the Stanford WR, Cam Williams and Gilbert should contribute next year you also got KK Smith, Faison and Greathouse

I genuinely wish I had the room in my life to care about Notre Dame football and recruiting. I wish those folks knew what a blessing that is.
