Marcus had a brief interview with Reece Davis on sportcenter today. Guy is such a good ambassador. Interview was Pretty random as they weren’t talking about CFB, just dropped in a quick 5 minute segment with MF.

We’re definitely in a spot in a program we haven’t been in a loooong time.

I think it’s probably a good sign they aren’t having Hobbs play CB and Nickel. The fact that Hobbs is basically locked as #2 Nickel means they don’t feel a need to have him play outside

Three times in a row that Mickens had a freshman ready to go when needed.

My understanding from the squat bros is that it should be Wee Willie Winkie......

I would imagine Hobbs is repping at Nickel because they need to get him reps there and feel comfortable with what he can do outside. Could also be in prep for dime packages too.

I think both Carr and Minchey are talented enough to get us where we want to go this season. I don’t care who it is as long as we have a clear cut QB1 within the next two weeks. I don’t want this to drag on into the season and run into a Kizer/Zaire situation

Was on campus today. Nothing football to add other than we walked into the Gug and didn't get kicked out (it was later in the day, with what I'm assuming was a bunch of team managers on the field and a clock counting down 25 mins), so that was cool.

Also, $200+ UA polos are fucking dumb. ND apparel is getting out of hand price wise.

Minchey makes sense for a couple of reasons:

An extra year in the system compared to Carr.

Denbrock historically has done his best work with mobile QBs

Probably has the bigger cannon of the two

He gets to practice early to stretch and then throws. It’s not like he’s throwing to air guys he’s got the QB Coach’s blessing, Freeman walks the stretch lines lol. If anything a psychopathic competitive tick is something we’ve been missing at QB. Very not normal humans are most NFL QBs

BGI was emphatic this offseason this would be a true 50/50 battle prior to fall camp. Everyone anointing Carr the starter is doing it prematurely. Staff isn't concerned about who everyone feels will be the starter. They will pick the right man. Minchey has been overlooked clearly with many think Carr was going to be handed the job right away at fall camp. We'll find out soon who the starter is to lead this great team.

Tbf Carr absolutely cooked in the spring and I heard it wasn't particularly close. That's also why Angeli left in a relatively amicable parting of the ways.

On "vibes" and athleticism I understand why Minchey is squarely in the race though and wouldn't be surprised if he won the job.
