When it becomes obvious that you have become the pony in the dog and pony show that is ESPN and their little TV ratings and money reality drama, it's the more courageous move to say fuck off, you won't be using us for your little show anymore, provided you back it up. Showing up and doing their bidding for them is just a bitch move and just gives them exactly what they want.

Alabama, OM, Tulane, James Madison, OU…get out of here with that nonsense. I get Miami. I really do. But to have Alabama…? Ole Miss…? Get out of here

Alabama isn’t winning shit even after being gifted a spot.

This isn’t one of Nick Saban’s teams that everyone would hold their breaths hoping they’d get left out because they would still be the most talented team in the field.

This is a pre-playoffs Outback Bowl team that hasn’t looked good since mid-October.

Because it hasn’t been utilized yet other than in coaching transition years.

This will open the floodgates.

The conferences will try to mitigate it with fines, the real players will casually toss that fine money at the conferences feet and causally say “DGAF”

Not that I'm surprised, reddit is the worst social media platform by far, but still. There are no precedents when it comes to the NCAA punishing institutions. They chose not give scUM a post season ban for stealing signs the wrong way and that decision isn't going to affect future NCAA punishments for extra practices. All that matters is if it would hold up in court, which it probably would.

So no, lets not also violate NCAA rules while we destroy the ACC.

What actual benefit does ND get by playing an exhibition against BYU who won’t have any opt outs? ND would be without Love and Price at the very least, and probably Fields and Pauling as well. Just on offense. The extra practices don’t mean shit. We’re at the point in this program where if you are in the playoff conversation and don’t make it, a bowl game is completely irrelevant

If they beat BYU, it’s “oh well they got beat twice by Texas Tech too and you gave up 14 points”, but if we lose to BYU (without Love and Price and whoever else) it’s “yeah see you didn’t belong!!!!”

If they would have flipped the two of us when they got into the same "tier" a couple of weeks ago, I mean that sucks but whatever. There's some logic to it. Instead they put us in the same tier for 2 weeks and said, "yeah, ND is the better team, PERIOD." It's not that Miami got in that pisses me off, it's not even that they got in over us, it's that for 5 fucking weeks we were ahead of them and then we're both idle and we get bumped all while Bama has looked like ass for 6 weeks and was locked in. Don't get me started on OU's unquestioned status...

I'm not advocating for actually violating the rules, I'm just saying that NCAA punishments will only ever actually happen for lower level programs without the resources to afford a massive fine. The NCAA may be the only entity more inconsistent than the CFP committee.

I don't know that the NCAA would deny a waiver for bowl practices without playing in a bowl game, simply by being bowl eligible. There would be no harm in asking.

Indiana "fans" are incredibly goofy. Like resurgent Colorado fans but more cringe. If their team wins the title, then so be it. But personally, I'm not one of those fans who roots for a second team, or the attitude that it's better them than others. ND is out, the season is over, and so is CFB. The rest of the teams can fight it out for the asterix trophy.
