OK knowing this I am now in 100% conspiracy mode that they actively chose to fuck us because it will be the last opportunity for them to do so. It seems weirdly prescient that they thought they even needed that kind of MOU but when you see what happened with the 2x G5 AQs this year you get the foresight.
I agree with the earlier posters, they will just drop us to 13 if they want to keep us out. It's no protection at all if it turns on where we are ranked.

Virginia dropped 2 spots for an OT loss. Alabama doesn’t drop at all for a blow out.

I just want consistency, or at least have the question asked why Alabama didn’t drop. Couldn’t even get that.

Miami is one of the 12 best teams. I have no problem with them being in. It’s the way this all occurred that’s the problem. Burn it all to the ground

Great additional CCG games data point that supports the question, why not the same for ‘bama?

I don't disagree. I get why the committee put Bama in: you shouldn't be punished for playing the extra game in your conference CG. I get it. I can agree with it in some ways, but still think the playoffs should just be the 12 best teams. I don't think my guys played like they are yesterday. I'd rather ND have gotten in and Bama just gone to a decent bowl where we have a good chance to finish the season with a win.
Then you have to agree BYU, Miami and tOSU shouldn't have moved either. It doesn't matter if it's a 3 point loss or a 30 point loss, no penalty, only upside. Do you think Bama should be punished for producing -3 rushing yards? Adding salt to our wounds, we had the best backfield in CFB and were all set to return our best OL who was present for our 300 yard gashing of USC.

Tell me how it makes sense that the committee put Bama in, please. Did you think they deserved to jump ND after their gritty win against Auburn and their valiant rushing effort? Do you think they have a chanced to win a title? Alabama lost to FSU by 14 when ND was losing to Miami by 3.

FSU finished 13th in the ACC, going 2-6 in conference.
ND lost to playoff Miami by 3 on the road.
ND lost to playoff TAMU by 1 with a blown call at home.

Since then, which teams have done more and improved? NDs last loss was in September to TAMU by 1 point. Since then 10 wins.

Bama's last loss was by 21 yesterday.
Before that it was a couple weeks prior to Oklahoma.

Also need to revise the committee...

Current (2025-2026) CFP Committee Members:
Why have anyone who has ties to a conference or team? Also it was stated during the show that the "coaches" on the panel went back and looked at the ND Miami game to redigest it and put it into simple terms for those that were coaches on how dominant Miami was, if that was the case why didn't they do that for the FSU/Bama game? Or how about the Georgia/Bama game? What about the two losses Miami had to inferior opponents? What about the games against common opponents where ND starters didn't play the 4th quarter?

Whole fucking process is corrupt and they should just turn college football into the minor leagues.

The first level of conspiracy to this is they preserved the conference championship weekend for tv ratings. The SEC getting 5 teams after 4 last year. The ACC gets a spot.

The second level is fucking ND the year before it will be harder to. ND is likely to make a run, therefore reducing one or more conference payouts.

Right. Did they watch the game yesterday?

Two paths for the future of college football IMO.

1. BCS rankings with a 16 team playoff format. Get rid of the BS auto qualifiers for conference champs.

2. Soccer style rankings with tiers that have relegations at the end of a period of 1 year or open to other ideas on this one. Have the tiers play each other during the "regular season" and then have a call up/demotion at the end of the season.
16 teams create more problems than solutions. Playoff seedings aside, the college football season has to start sooner and end sooner because of the calendar, semesters, coaching changes, and transfer portal.

1 - everyone starts playing week 0

2 - Power 4 teams - no games against FCS teams allowed

3 - no more conf champ games. they're all useless now

4 - 12 teams in, must have 10 wins minimum. NO automatic bids.

5 - natty game on new years day. 5pm. no more monday night bullshit.

Last thought- Assuming things move to a 16 team playoff next year; this reminds me a lot of what happened with Florida state a few years ago. The committee politicized the process and kept them out knowing they wouldn’t have to deal with a similar scenario in the 12 team model. This feels like more of the same, make a “narrow ruling” and punt everything to the next model.

Except that that motion could have gone another way. Instead of honoring precedence of not punishing a team for losing a CCG, punt that idea to the next 16-team model where CCGs likely go away, and kick ‘bama down to #11.

Listen here, moron. The fact that ND threw a million now screens and didn't throw down the field allowed Miami to crowd the box. Guess who is #1 in the country at passing downfield now. Idiots!

The only WR we were not hanging with is Hobbs on Toney. Guess what? Hobbs isnt playing anymore. We now have Davonte and Tae. Don't think we are idiots, schmuck. If we can see through that in two seconds, so can you.
We held down like the best passing offense in CFB (USC) a month later. Nothing that guy says is honest or true. It's all just some spin job or post hoc rationalization.

They’re still the ones in charge of the rankings. Weird how Notre Dame ends up at 13 in that scenario.

Fine with this. I don't want to play BYU where their entire team of 25 year old Mormons will play like it's the Super Bowl and World Cup final combined and a bunch of our starters won't play and they'll think the outcome proves something. Utah fans are way less annoying and don't have a chip on their shoulder.
Have you seen them play? They aren’t very good and being a 25 year old Mormon doesn’t exactly scream “NFL”

All of the retroactive logic here is bat shit crazy
This needs to be posted in the locker room and ND should make it a point to grind those assholes into the dirt next year. I hate Miami and would love to make it yearly rivalry and start embarrassing them on a yearly basis.

At one point, the committee chair said, "Well, I think one of the most important factors for this committee in particular is they watch the games." To talk about how Miami had the better athletes, ND wasn't able to cover Miami's receivers, and held Love to 33 yards means they watched only the one game. The players getting gashed by Miami are on the bench at this point. Watch the other games.

Yeah, but they'll be energized and have their entire starting lineup. No one will skip to get ready for the NFL because none of them are going. They'll feel like they have something to prove. Winning by 100 over BYU will prove nothing to anyone for us. I'd just rather not give that fanbase any ammo to be any more annoying than they already are.

Sorry for any confusion.
I deleted my post because I saw Dale had already posted the Ross tweet.

Here it is again for context:
