I want the 7 or 10 seed. I don't want Ohio State until the finals. Teams that scare me: Ohio State, Oregon, maybe Bama, maybe Georgia. Not afraid: Big 12, ACC, Oklahoma, Ole Miss

What if IU beats OSU in CCG? I don't expect this game to be as much one-sided as it was last year.

IU = 2012 ND. Can they win, sure. They've also earned the spot they're in. Won a big game or two, survived games they should've been a L. But when they get the matchup vs a bonafide team in a high stakes game, I think they'll be humbled rather quickly.

Last years experience has to help IU this year. I don't think they will beat OSU, but it should help them keep it respectable.

I think Oregon jumps TTU tonight. The committee will position things so they can drop TTU out if they lose to BYU.
It's why I also think they might jump Vandy back over Miami. I just don't think they think enough of Miami to want to have to get into a H2h discussion.

Like in what universe is anyone asking for 4 automatic qualifiers from the ACC and Big 12 lmao
Awful
Michigan's a long-shot even if they beat OSU, honestly. It's pretty obvious they are not very good this year.

No that is BS. Michigan is clearly not worthy of the playoffs and one upset does not a season make
In a tidal pool of two loss teams, you are telling me the pass over the one that has

  • Beat the #1 team, recently
  • Two road losses to good teams
  • Helmet
  • Market
  • Most powerful conference

I also don't get how you get a team to agree to "throw a game." Is the coach just gonna stand up there and lay out the logic of getting two Big12 teams into the playoffs and everyone is just gonna be on board?
They won't take a dive but they can be convinced that the game doesn't matter and their top priority is to avoid injury.

When you ignore the Miami related bitching and whining, you will see a very real pendulum swing towards “ND is legit, and you should be worried about playing them” rhetoric.

This team needs to show up and show out in the CFP, which I have no doubt they will.

Making a run this season could officially end any doubt for people that breathe through their nose.

Pretty sure the committee references (or has referenced) who the “favorites” in given scenarios would be… aka, they are using Vegas towards their rankings in some way.

No shot 10-2 ND gets left out for any reason, particularly when Vegas would have them favored over almost anyone outside the top 3-4

That's what I think half the Miami love is rooted in. People are worried about playing Notre Dame in the playoffs and are not worried about playing Miami.

I am very torn about what I want from Miami. I would like to play them again but I don't think Miami deserves to be in the playoffs.

Bama and Notre Dame also have large followings, and better resumes. Michigan was not competitive in those two losses. They barely beat Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue.

They are not good, and if they somehow beat Ohio State it’ll be a weird rivalry game fluke where they’re so deep in Ryan Day’s head, not indicative of how they’ll play other good teams.

Good call, I agree. Not that Miami is in anyway an easy out, but I think everyone with eyes to see and ears to hear (so not the Miami Crybaby Industrial Complex) can see that since the week 1 loss to Miami, both ND and Miami have gone in different directions. Our arrow is trending solidly up. Miami's is more of an up and down. They've had a couple of strong wins sprinkled into a series of pedestrian wins and losses.

agree. The people that watch them closely and have no rooting interest all agree....

This is a much better track for them to take and isn’t bitchy and personal against ND. With 2 rankings left they’ve finally figured out there are teams in between us and them and they have to clear them first. The ACC social media people must be blood relatives to some of the ACC referees.

I’ve been saying since the night of the first rankings people spend so much head space on Notre Dame when Utah (power rating + good losses) is basically the same decision by the committee and rarely gets mentioned.

Unfortunately for Utah, even if they're ranked #12 they have almost zero path to the playoffs. That's why no one is talking about them.

Are they really going to wait until this basketball game is over? There's like 7 minutes still left in the game.
