We actually somehow have less points in the AP this week

So, here's a neat website, College Poll Tracker

It has the distribution of votes each week by voter and rank, weekly poll history by team, and a comparison of each ballot to the final for that week. There's a ton of info there and they have data going back to 2014, so you could really suss out biases, if you wanted.

This is ND's 2025 page.

Ohio State is not better than last year... IMO.

Our defense would make them one dimensional as their running game is average at best. Double Jeremiah Smith and have Leonard Moore lockdown Carnell Tate. In a perfect world, if a team can get pressure on Sayin while only rushing four, while dropping seven, that would be key in slowing down their offense.

Yes, their defense is impressive, but what elite offense have they played? We were one dimensional on offense in the National Championship Game, with a Jeremiyah Love who was on one leg and a defense who was patched together.

I rather take the risk of getting them early, so that they can sit around for a couple of weeks and hopefully that layoff gets that offense out of sync. Ohio State ran the gauntlet last year, it is now our time to do the same. This journey began in Miami on August 31st and it will end in Miami on January 19th with a National Championship.

I posted that a week ago along with the fact that our boys are a better team then last year. The gap between ND& OSU is minimal. Another thing is our favor is the defense is getting better each week.

Austin Mock at the Athletic did a projection. Us at 5 seed hosting North Texas lol. No chance that happens but would be ideal!

Odds keep dipping on FanDuel. Down to -1050.
Until the committee shows that they agree with the media generated drama of ND v Miami, I won’t worry about it. If, come Tuesday, we’re both slotted where we have been (or Miami is jumped by Vandy, which is a real possibility) those odds will shoot right back up, because it will prove that the committee doesn’t give a shit about public/media opinion on the matter. Personally, that’s exactly what I see happening.

I think those odds are a lot less about Miami and a lot more about Bama winning the SEC and BYU beating TTech.

Yeah good call that’s definitely fair. That’s about the only scenario that really actually worries me.

A UW win against Oregon would make me feel a whole lot better about things going into championship weekend. And, less likely, an Auburn upset in the iron bowl.

A TTU loss in Morgantown also wouldn’t suck. It would basically guarantee no at large bids for the B12. That’s probably the least likely of all the useful upsets for us though, WVU is really bad

I just think we are playing way too well to be entirely left out. I don't see a world where FPI #3 (their favorite metric) is not included in a 12 team field with only 2 losses.
Agreed but I think the nightmare scenario is Bama and BYU winning their conference title games.

They are probably ranked too high to drop all the way out for losing a CCG. But what exactly is the argument for Texas Tech to get an at-large bid?

I think it was Brice who noted that most fans assume it’s a bunch of ADs but they forget there are former on the committee like Mark Dantonio & Chris Ault who are far more qualified than ADs & fans to employ the “eye test”. You all heard Saban talking positively about ND on GameDay w/ the same perspective. They know what ”good” looks like & they have no biases in favor of ND. I would think Dantonio would be more likely to have a bias vs ND but is professional enough to set it aside for voting purposes.

Sark already crying like a bitch lobbying for the horns to get into playoff. Even brought up our loss to NIU last year in comparison to their Florida loss this year. Apparently he forgets that they have 3 losses, when that was our only loss last year, and they've looked like shit in most games.

We did lose to NIU last year the week after we beat A&M in College Station. Then we we went on a 10 game win streak to end the season (13 over all). Texas lost to Billy fucking Napier by 8, got blown out by 25 against UGA, and had to go to OT to beat multiple shit teams.

Does anyone ever think we’ll see a coach say “Hey fanbase we lost 3 games we don’t deserve getting into the CFP! There are other more deserving teams. We’ll take our pop tarts bowl!” Sounds like a good AI headline

It's actually amusing that Texas is making the "if we had scheduled a bad team instead of OSU we're in the playoffs" argument when they lost to a 3 win Billy Napier coached team and went to OT against two shitty SEC teams. They could just as easily still be 9-3 if they had scheduled a bad anyways.

Maybe if Texas didn’t have the Drunk, Temu Sean Mcvay coaching them
