The Coach B top 25: (Just the facts, sir) Also, I will accept any offers to serve to the CFP committee.
1. Miami - W Notre Dame 27-24, W Bethune-Cookman 45-3, W South Florida 49-12, W Florida 26-7, W Florida St. 28-22
Justification for being over Ohio St. is better three or four better wins than OSU's best.
Beat Florida soundly, who beat Texas by a similar margin that OSU did.
Pounded FSU (despite final score) and FSU beat Alabama by 14.
2. Indiana - W Old Dominion 27-14, W Kennesaw State 56-9, W Indiana St. 73-0, W Illinois 63-10, W Iowa 20-15, W Oregon 30-20
Justification for over Ohio St. is they beat Illinois by 53 vs. 18. And the Oregon win is way better than anything OSU has yet.
3. Texas A&M
W UTSA 42-24, W Utah St. 44-22, W Notre Dame 41-40, W Auburn 16-10, W Mississippi St. 31-9, W Florida 34-17
The ND win keeps on helping them. Four good wins total. Four wins that are arguably better than anything OSU has.
4. Ohio State
W Texas 14-7, W Grambling 70-0, W Ohio 37-9, W Washington 24-6, W Minnesota 42-3, W Illinois 34-16.
Defending champ. Hasn't been beaten yet. Elite D. Offense will get better as the year goes on.
5. Texas Tech
W Arkansas Pine Bluff 67-7, W Kent St. 62-14, W Oregon St. 45-14, W Utah 34-10, W Houston 35-11, W Kansas 42-17.
The Red Raiders have been dominant. They don't have as big of wins as the top 4 do.
TT beat Kansas by 25, while Missouri beat them 42-31. Missouri lost to Alabama by 3.
6. Oregon
W Montana St. 59-13, W Oklahoma St. 69-3, W Northwestern 34-14, W Oregon St. 41-7, W Penn St. 30-24 2 OT, L Indiana 30-20.
They don't really have a good win. Their best win is Northwestern. Their loss is considered a good loss.
7. Notre Dame
L Miami 27-24, L Texas A&M 41-40, W Purdue 56-30, W Arkansas 56-13, W Boise St. 28-7, W NC State 36-7. Very similar resume to Oregon, but have an extra loss. Lost barely to the #1 and #3 teams (Including getting hosed against the #3 team on the winning play).
8. Alabama
L Florida St. 31-17, W UL Monroe 73-0, W Wisconsin 38-14, W Georgia 24-21, W Vanderbilt 30-14, W Missouri 27-24
Why they are behind ND - They lost by 14 to a Florida St team that Miami hammered. ND and Miami were separated by 3 points. Furthermore, Alabama beat GA by 3, Tennessee and Georgia are about even (OT game), Tennessee beat Ark by 3, ND beat Arkansas by 43.
9. Georgia
W Marshall 45-7, W Austin Peay 28-6, W Tennessee 44-41 (OT), L Alabama 24-21, W Kentucky 35-14, W Auburn 20-10
10.
Vanderbilt
W Charleston Southern 45-3, W Virginia Tech 44-20, W South Carolina 31-7, W Georgia St. 70-21, W Utah St. 55-35, L Alabama 30-14
Beat South Carolina by 24, LSU won by 10. Turned it over in red zone twice vs. Alabama. Was anyone's game.
11.
Tennessee
W Syracuse 45-26, East Tennessee State 72-17, L Georgia 44-41 (OT), W UAB 56-24, W Mississippi St. 41-34 (OT), W Arkansas 34-31
12.
Utah
W UCLA 43-10, W Cal Poly 63-9, W Wyoming 31-6, L Texas Tech 34-10, W West Virginia 48-14, W Arizona St. 42-10
They have blowout wins over everyone other than Texas Tech. Think they are a little low in the AP.
13. Ole Miss
W Georgia State 63-7, W Kentucky 30-23, W Arkansas 41-35, W Tulane 45-10, W LSU 24-19, W Washington St 24-21
Just a bunch of close wins against average competition. They did beat LSU head to head, but I don't think either one is that good.
14.
Memphis
W Chattanooga 45-10, W Georgia St 38-16, W Troy 28-7, W Arkansas 32-31, W Florida Atlantic 55-26, W Tulsa 45-7
I know this is higher than most, but they have similar results against Arkansas as the other SEC schools do. And the rest of their wins are dominant.
15. LSU
W Clemson 17-10, W Louisiana Tech 23-7, W Florida 20-10, W SE Louisiana 56-10, L Ole Miss 24-19, W S. Carolina 20-10
16.
Georgia Tech
W Colorado 27-20, W Gardner-Webb 59-12, W Clemson 24-21, W Temple 45-24, W Wake Forest 30-29 (OT), W Virginia Tech 35-20
17.
USC
W Missouri St. 73-13, W Georgia Southern 59-20, W Purdue 33-17, W Michigan State 45-31, L Illinois 34-32, W Michigan 31-13
They have arguably the best offense in the country. I don't see any team behind them being able to keep up.
18.
USF
W Boise St. 34-7, W Florida 18-16, L Miami 49-12, W S Carolina St. 63-14, W Charlotte 54-26, W North Texas 63-36
I have USF over Oklahoma for this reason. USF 18-16 over Florida. Florida 29-21 over Texas. Texas 23-6 over Oklahoma.
19.
Missouri
W Central Arkansas 61-6, W Kansas 42-31, W Louisiana 52-10, W South Carolina 29-20, W UMASS 42-6, L Alabama 27-24
20.
Texas
L Ohio St. 14-7, W San Jose St. 38-7, W UTEP 27-10, W Sam Houston 55-0, L Florida 29-21, W Oklahoma 23-6
21.
Oklahoma
W Illinois St. 35-3, W Michigan 24-13, W Temple 42-3, W Auburn 24-17, W Kent St. 44-0, L Texas 23-6
They are ranked too high currently. IMO, the most overrated team from the beginning of the year. Then Penn State, Texas, and Clemson proved they were all vastly overrated also.
22.
Virginia
W Coastal Carolina 48-7, L NC State 35-31, W William & Mary 55-16, W Stanford 48-20, W Florida St. 46-38 (2OT), W Louisville 30-27 (OT)
Solid wins over Florida St. and Louisville. Seems like 22 is a good spot for them.
23. Nebraska
W Cincinnati 20-17, W Akron 68-0, Houston Christian 59-7, L Michigan 30-27, W Michigan St. 38-27, W Maryland 34-31
Surprising they aren't ranked. They have a solid profile.
24.
Cincinnati
L Nebraska 20-17, W Bowling Green 34-20, W Northwestern St. 70-0, W Kansas 37-34, W Iowa St. 38-30, W UCF 20-11
25.
Illinois
W Western Illinois 52-3, W Duke 45-19, W Western Michigan 38-0, L Indiana 63-10, W USC 34-32, W Purdue 43-27, L Ohio St. 34-16
Nice win over USC boosts them over BYU for the final spot in the poll.
