NFL pressure is better than kissing booster and university higher-up ass just to shake enough money out of the tree so you can turn around and negotiate with teenagers, their parents, handlers, and agents.
You are exactly Right. I don't think it is any easier. If anything, being a college coach right now is more difficult. It might be different for ND because you have some genuine 40 year decision type of guys, but in the NFL these guys actually have contracts. Right now on college rosters virtually everyone is year to year because of NIL and The Portal. Not to mention, the NFL works a lot like college: you're going to get another bite at the apple. John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski were both fired. They both landed new jobs. It's not like you get fired somewhere and your career is over. These guys always land on their feet. Matt Eberflus is probably going to coach linebackers somewhere in the NFL, if not get another DC job again.

The college to NFL thing doesn't work. I like Marcus and want him to stay, but if I'm a fan of an NFL team and they hire Marcus Freeman or any other college coach, I don't know how happy I'd be about that as a fan. Buffalo is the tenth job to open, which I believe is an NFL coaching carousel record for one season. These NFL jobs are like gold to the guys who are coaching in the League and have the ambition. Even dysfunctional poverty franchises like the Browns, Raiders, Jets, Bears, etc. There are guys waiting for their shot that WANT these jobs and don't care about the history and or failings.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath every time an NFL coaching job opens. It's seriously annoying and silly. Marcus Freeman is going to fucking Buffalo or anywhere else.

It’ll be Daboll
You are probably correct, but I think it would be a mistake. You hire a guy who went 20-40 with the Giants?

Buffalo's hire comes down to who is calling the plays on offense and what vision is for Josh Allen. The Chiefs didn't make the playoffs this year and it really is/was a golden opportunity for the rest of the pack. The Chiefs are surely going to do a reset, get Mahomes healthy and press on.

These AFC teams, especially any with a QB that is within his window, have to make really good hires in this carousel.

This is sadly realistic. I think Klubiak could be a great fit in Buffalo after seeing Ben Johnson in Chi.

Daboll couldn't get the Giants out of the cellar
He's going to have opportunities. Working with Josh Allen has to be enticing for him, and I think it would do Allen a lot of good. I like Kubiak a lot. I think the Bills make a ton of sense for both parties. Ravens is probably more of a risk but Kubiak could see Lamar and think he knows how to use him the best way to get them where they want to go.

I'd guess the Steelers will have a long look at him too but they don't have a QB and this isn't the draft to go get one.

its funny that MF was talked up as a HC for being a great guy and culture leader and NFL teams are turning around and hiring sociopathic dipshits like Nagy, Saleh, Daboll and Bienemy this cycle

Precisely. NFL Culture rules the day more often than not, and part of that culture is going to the recycling bin to hire a head coach.

John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski immediately got new jobs after being let go. Saleh is on his second bite of the apple and he only had to wait two years. Nagy could still land somewhere. Same with McDaniel, McCarthy, etc.

Then you have the Hafley and Ben Johnson type hires. Let's hire a coordinator from a successful team and see if they can replicate the secret sauce. They're not interested in a college coach that has zero NFL experience. The exceptions to the rule are few and far between.

Not hearing Belichick's name come up at all this cycle.

Jeff Hafley to the dolphins
This probably means Raheem Morris is going to be Green Bay DC. He's pretty close to LaFleur and they've coached together before.

I like Coach Rah. Making him DC with that young team up there is a great move if they make it.

They could certainly do a lot worse.

If Brady goes to Baltimore, I think Buffalo is left with Kubiak as the only smart choice. (please don't be Dabol)

Edit: I think Mcdermott could end up in Pitt

It doesn’t matter who you inherit at QB. When the ownership and front office is this dysfunctional, the HC opening is not appealing.

Btw, the above video is a blatant bullshit lie.

The whole press conference was crazy. Like super cringe worthy..

I feel adequately prepared to be part of the bills fan base solely because of this board. We are in full bedwetting mode in Buffalo and I got just the sheets to lead

Three defensive coordinators have been hired for head coaching vacancies so far. Curious to see if that trend continues with the remaining openings.

Jeff Hafley is an interesting hire. Didn’t have success at BC and his GB defense stunk after Parsons got hurt.

The Dolphins new GM just came from Green Bay.

Hafley seems to have worked with enough people out there to have developed a good rep, but when the GM rolls in from the team you were just at, he probably had a leg up from the jump.

Both offenses just made the defenses match zone coverage in the red zone look ridiculous
