One of the talking heads said something to the effect of Kelly got blasted by Alabama in 2012 and spent the rest of his tenure trying to recreate Alabama's 2012 team.

I don't mind the 12 personnel stuff but ideally you should be able to also do the opposite to some degree and ND hasn't been able to spread the field when the situation called for it.
This

The best teams take advantage of the defense that they play

Most teams use Nickel and speed line backers so 12 or 13 takes advantages. But you need to be able to spread it and pound it

One of the bigger reasons they used 12 personnel so much was because the sheer lack of receiver talent (almost as soon as Denbrock left hmmmm ) between very poor recruiting, bad development, and straight up bad luck. Think of 2020, can you even remember who WR3 was?

Why can’t people discuss football on a football message board?

What a concept, instead of coming here for high fives from your buddies
When you bring ANYTHING at all to this message board, aside from negativity and arrogance, let me know …… last I’ll say, otherwise I’ll be dragging things on obnoxiously , like you do every time you post

Good luck

I've been saying Price is the best back!
The RB room is STACKED!
The RB room is indeed stacked, but I'm not sure he's the best back even though he's the starter. The fact they're getting Love reps at Slot shows that they have to have him on the field and get him the ball any way they can. I think that speaks to his importance, and in a position that we're also deep in at Slot. He's a playmaker that they can't have wasted on the sidelines when he's not in the backfield.

Love is going to be awesome.
I just have an unhealthy obsession with Price.

Like Ricky Watters level of lust.

I'm not at that level, but a few years ago we had Estime and Diggs entering their sophmore seasons, along with Tyree.

I'd still take this year's backfield, knowing what we know about those guys. Love and Price just offer so much explosive potential.

Seems like the o line is gonna be the make or break for this team. I could see ND dropping 1-2 games due to inexperience/lack of production there.

Leonard practiced.

But in the limited viewing session open to media, Leonard particularly connected on two strong throws. The first, down the right sideline going north, was an over-the-shoulder toss to Jayden Harrison, who also made an excellent adjustment on the ball and hauled it in near the sideline.

The final pass reporters saw Leonard zip Wednesday morning was an approximately 30-yard out to Jaden Greathouse.

I’m not huge on Jaden Mickey returning punts as we don’t have a ton of depth at Corner at the moment. Credit to him for giving it a shot, but Mickens is ought to tell Biagi to give him back.

Give me Minchey or Carr after this season. Sorry but don’t want Tommy 2.0. With NDs roster we need a game changer at QB not a game manager.
I'm with you 100%. I'll take some mistakes here and there if the guy's a baller and playmaker and not this timid, safe, conservative QB play.

It all depends for me.
With the (expected) talent of Minchey and Carr, I agree the calculus says we roll with them if the transfer options are on the Sam/Riley level.
However, even though Minchey and Carr are better than previous young QBs, I would still entertain a QB transfer if its a legit Heisman level of candidate, which seems very rare.

Basically, those two should be good enough (plus Steve) to roll with, and Deuce coming in - unless Trevor Lawrence wants in.
