I really hope that's how OL pans out. I'm not sure that's what it'll look like in spring depending on if Spindler is back and healthy.

Nothing against Coogan, but I just don't see him as a guy with elite guard potential. He seems more like a center playing guard. Not quite as out of place as Correll, but he's not super imposing physically. He's like 6'5 and just over 300.

I'd rather have a road grader like Spindler, who is 315-320, alongside Schrauth, also 315-320. We need some road graders at guard.

Heck, Pendleton can be that too. Dude's already there physically, and apparently has impressed the staff since he set foot on campus.
Interesting you say that, cause Ryan Harris was gushing over his performances at the end of the year. Called him the next great ND o lineman.

Harris is entitled to his opinion, but I definitely didn't see that. I felt he was good at times, but more often than not, was just reliably solid. I just don't think he is physically imposing or strong enough to really dominate at guard. I think he's pretty much a center.

But another thing I didn't really consider that may be worth looking at is swapping Craig and Coogan. Have Coogan at center and Craig at LG.

Center fits Coogan's game a lot better, whereas I think Craig has the physicality and the size to excel at any of the interior spots.

I want the best 5 out there. Regardless of the iteration, that has to be either Coogan at center, or no Coogan at all.

Coogan came out of nowhere this year to win the job. Props to him. Will be an interesting battle to see who the best 5 is but I like our depth.

I hadn't heard that. Pendleton looks the part already? Anyone else get mentioned?

So among the guys who were kind of iffy for 5th/6th years Bauman, Lewis and Devyn Ford are listed on the updated roster for 2024 on UND.com, Kristoflec is not. Bertrand is not listed; he never announced but he was expected to leave and he apparently has.
Talich is on there. Three new PWO's,a long snapper, the kicker from the Citadel, and a DLM named Eric Lindstrom. Any body know anything about Lindstrom?

Matt from ISD did a report on the OL a few days ago, kind of just summarizing where everybody was at and what the general vibe is around the program regarding them.

Pendleton has been getting high praise for his mean streak. He's the kind of player you want at guard. Mean and physically imposing. 6'5 320 and just bulldozes guys. Might still be a year away, but wouldn't surprise me if he pushes for time like Schrauth did in camp last year.

Otting also had a lot of positive reviews. He's another guy that plays with a mean streak. His issue is just getting bigger. I think he was a shade under 290. He's not going to be super big, but he's not Zeke Correll either. I can see him getting up to 300-310, but he's also just under 6'4, while Correll was closer to 6'2 and didn't really have a lot of room to add weight. He was listed at 308, but it clear as day that he wasn't close to that. Craig was listed as lighter than him but it was clear that Craig was a much bigger player.

I'd like to see Ausberry and Drayk (Good God that's a terrible first name/spelling) Bowen get considerable P.T. this year. Get the talent, raw athleticism, and speed on the field.

Cool! Now, who gonna try out to see if they can use their gridiron chops to help 'dem Fighting Irish win a Natty this year?!
