I took Oregon and Texas to win the title before the season and I'll ride with that. ND isn't winning a title this year. No threat of a verdical pass, undersized on the interior d-line, and inexperienced on oline. A realistic expectation is for ND to make a run and be competitive against any team they face. The seedings should show that it's all about revenue and setting up matchups and preferential paths for particular teams. That's why the committee can't give non-conflicting "criteria".
Clemson is the ACC champ and just beat SMU but are ranked below them? It sets up a narrative of a QB from Austin, Tx playing against his home school. ND vs Indiana obviously has a story line. Penn State who oddsmakers were high on all season gets the easiest path to the semi-finals? Then Lastly, tOSU who has the highest liability as far as $$$$ to win the title will...presumably have to go through gauntlets row (Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, Georgia.) to win the title.
