College football watcher just said the name is gonna be big enough to surprise people. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say Arch Manning?! I mean Eli and Peyton were on campus a lot recently who says it can’t happen?
Progressing even faster than I thought. Name will be spilled by Tuesday. Why can’t everyone just say nothing. It’s not that hard.

Did he delete the tweet? I don't see anything.

He regularly takes info from Loy.

Maybe we should dive up the names and take squares to bet?

I am betting Minchey, Lonergan or Stokes if known names.

Not for us. Maybe for someone else.
We have Carr in 2024 and we're hitting the portal for a QB this offseason. If ever there was a time to take a risk on a potential baseball prospect, it's in this class.

Really hoping it wouldn’t be Arch. Supposedly the Mannings want him to redshirt and whoever they bring in for 23 should at least be in competition (we hope) unless there’s a stud transfer. Which I kinda doubt.

Absolute best case scenario for me is Vizzina is rethinking his decision.

I'll add there's like a .01% chance I'd give this tho

He’s brought quite a bit of attention to this. Ballsy move, hopefully it hits.

Loy is strongly insinuating the name will be released as part of this weekends visitor list at the end of the week.

Off the board QBs committed to bad teams/carousel teams:

JJ Kohl (Iowa St)
Austin Novosad (if Grimes gets a gig)
Marcel Reed (Kifffin)
Gabarri Johnson (Drink got an extension but his offense is garbage)

Lonergan isn’t going to be a really high draft pick offered a bonus he can’t refuse. I think he’s considered a higher football than baseball prospect. At least I don’t see him on any MLB mock draft lists.

If he chose MLB it would be because he wants to focus on a baseball career, not because the money is too good to pass up. And if he’s actually shopping around for the best football fit then I don’t think that’s the case.

No shot it's Arch, but not wanting the #1 Qb in the entire class is a new kind of hot take.

Don't know if someone else has said this already, but I imagine the visitor this weekend is being kept tight lipped because they are already committed. Staff doesn't want the other school to know so they don't have a chance to talk him out of visiting.

My thing with all of this is, Loy/Driskell/et al only get their info from “inside sources.” Those sources are likely staffers of some kind.

If you’re a staffer and you have this info and you willfully leak it to guys that make their living by leaking inside info…What do you possibly have to gain by doing so? If your professional longevity is tied to ND getting the best recruits possible, why the fuck would you potentially screw that up by telling one of the talking heads at the pay sites?

That shit has never made sense to me.

I would guess the “inside source” world is controlled by Notre Dame. There is no real advantage to giving information to recruiting services. I doubt there is any money to be made. They probably allow a certain amount of information out which keeps excitement around the program.

It's hard to say who it is but it's gotta be a kid whose committed to a team whose struggling? Or a someone whose got more than 1 QB coming already?
