Loy had a somewhat cryptic post the other day that was like Johnson being someone the staff will stay on. That makes me think there has been recent communication. He was all-in on Rees in the beginning so maybe Rees can get that back.

I think KSU is gonna push the limits of being just a option offense this year with Martinez, which Johnson would no doubt be good at but Buchner’s usage will probably be more attractive and reasonable. Between KSUs tempo being like last in CFB usually & the style I wonder if Martinez throws like 10-15 passes a game.

I read it different. To me, it sounded like the staff is talking to some guys they like and think they have a good shot for, so they think they will end up with a good QB. The problem is what the staff thinks is a good QB and what this board thinks is a good QB could be very far apart.

This is true but I’m trusting Freeman’s recruiting strategy until it’s proven wrong. Hoping they are talking to the couple of QBs that were high on ND when we were all in on Moore.

Hey T Town, does Alabama expect both Holstein and Lonergan to stick or is the belief that Holstein is already on his way out? I figured he'd decommitt by now.

Hasn’t been much talk about either one moving on. Lonergan would be the one that stays if I were guessing. Simpson, Milroe, and these two …. somebody’s decommitting or transferring. Most think Simpson is farther along than Milroe at this point.

The prospects of signing a QB look slim so I expect they hit the portal hard for a one year bridge QB to Carr. Then, in 2024; they can have Carr & Buchner compete for the QB1

Carr reclass and/or transfer portal QB. IMO, or is more likely than and.

I want a JT Daniels type. That would have made such a huge difference in the last 2 games. You know he'd have loved to be at ND. I do hope they take the portal seriously and come to grips with the fact that Buchner is one hit away from being done for the season again. We don't even know if he has potential and he's injury prone. There is no option other than portal barring some earth shattering flip of a 5 star 2023 QB, or if they can convince CJ not only to reclassify, but that he will start as a true freshman. I doubt either of those things happen, so portal or bust imo. The question becomes, will they go big or just get a crap portal kid.

Carr sounds more likely than Avery Johnson who’s more likely than Minchey/other

Long way to go until February and plenty can happen, but at this point I'm not holding my breath for any surprises. Good ones anyway.
